- In this video we're listening to U2 for our Friday Favourites series. This band has been entertaining us since we were teens. We were surprised that we never heard this one from 2009, so we're really interested in hearing this. Enjoy!

*Magnificent* is one of U2's greatest tracks from a severely underrated "No Line on the Horizon" album - which is one of the most spectacular U2 records in recent memory. Thank you for the terrific video regarding this incredibly stellar U2 song ....
Hear hear! NLOTH has The Joshua Tree vibes in terms of great song after great song. It's a very underrated album.
U2 is the soundtrack to my life. Best band ever, hands down!
The songwriter in u2 is also known to write songs about his relationship with God. I am pretty sure God is the Magnificent of the song. Justified . Till we die, you and I will magnify the Magnificent , I feel is talking about the Christian theological concept of justification.

2009??? 🤯 It definitely doesn't seem _that_ long ago that NZ TV were playing this song and clip fairly regularly for a while! It's also the last decent thing I'd heard by them! I once was a massive U2 fan, before they did that 'Rattle And Hum' album and (even worse) movie BS, and to me, their last _really_ good album was 'Achtung Baby', which is now more than 30 years old 🤯
How can you say that? They have many incredible albums and How to dismantle an atomic bomb released 2004 won 8 Grammy awards, my top 5 U2 albums are The Joshua tree, Achtung baby, The unforgettable fire, How to dismantle an atomic bomb and Pop.Some absolute gems on them all.
Hello @@JustSean413! 🙂 - I can say that because people have different tastes and I am not you! 😉 I have absolutely no problem with you liking those later U2 albums, though 🙂 And I ultimately think it's great when artists change and evolve with time; In the case of U2, it just wasn't to my liking 🤷♂
Up until zooropa U2 were great, everything after has been very diluted watery rock to me, just over produced poppy songs that said nothing of note!

@@YourLoyalDeserter Most definitely, *PoP* is actuallly one of my favourite albums by U2. Also, *No Line on the Horizon* (2009) is a spectacular record.

Happy St.Patricks Day ☘️ ! I saw the tour for this album in Michigan. The show was postponed for a year because of Bono's bicycle crash. Interpol were the intended opening act but had to withdraw & some band I never heard of opened. It was quite a spectacular presentation by U2. They didn't play this track.
Lovely! U2 is absolute one the best Bands ever. Try bullet the Blue sky live. Amazing !!
