She is one of the worship leaders I look up to, and i have to agree, she IS intentional with every word and vowel that comes out of her mouth. And for the longest time I have been wondering how she does it, that high pitch without straining or making effort (compared to how I actually do it LOL). So I have a question (may sound foolish but please I received no formal vocal training and just relied on practice and personal study): When Kari reaches a high tone, she most of the time lean forward to the point of bowing, can you help me understand how that helps? Her live recording of Forever is one clear example of this, if you need a specific reference. And since you've already reacted to Kari, can you react to other worship leaders as well? This is a great question!! I can only speculate (melia here) to what she's doing and it seems like it might be for two reasons, one is obviously a worship posture of bowing which is appropriate as she is leading worship but from a vocal perspective, this is a very friendly position to expand your ribcage and allow for deeper breath! Changing your body position as an exercise while practicing can be a really great tool to help us understand how our body functions when we sing! I've even laid flat on the floor warming up before! We are absolutely looking to react to more worship leaders on our channel!! So happy to have you in our community, thanks for watching and your awesome question!!

I’ve sang this song before and I was wondering if you had any techniques I can work on to sing this song correctly we usually have two services on Sundays one English and one Spanish sometimes we sing the same song for both services and wanted to get a professional approach

I have definitely been dealing with fatigue after leading services. During rehearsals, I feel durable and strong but then during the service, I can tell tension and emotion is killing my efficiency. Thanks for the tips and exercises to focus on to improve my techniques. I’m praying I have the work ethic to put them into practice to bring my best to His throne every time I am able. Thanks so much!
Kari has mastered the art of giving space and air to her forward vowels while brightly spinning the sound from quiet to powerful. I've always been blown away by her ability to work her entire instrument and not ever sound operatic or too nasally or too belty.
23:12 Glad you mentioned this, I agree 100% and ive noticed this too. During the bridge its more noticeable during the higher part. She flips into a very mask/nasal placed headvoice which replicates the sound of a belt very well. I think she can definitely belt those notes (I believe its a C#5) but she chooses to use headvoice as a technical choice. Edit: the reason i believe shes not fully mixing though is bc if you listen closely, you can her flipping registers, not necessarily connecting them as 'mixing' would do. I think its just a very nasal hv (which might be mix) but im not a professional like you guys 😅

I haven't been able to sing since I had pneumonia 6 years ago and I want my voice back!
