From rolling out Herculiner to installing transfer tank, truck boxes, and even a combination generator/compressor, this big Ford begins its Perfect Additions transformation. We also throw in a wiring tech that will keep you from getting your wires crossed.
I'm definitely going to watch your episode when you mount the machine guns, smoke screen, and rear bullet deflector shield. Everyone should have those if they live close to the city.
And now with all the lights, box's, air, and generator. You can now safely carry enough tools and spare parts to take the 6.4 to the local grocery store.

The only thing you can do to increase the value of the 6.4 is take out the 6.4 and put in anything else.
Cummins swap kits grew so popular with this engine platform that companies came about doing swaps and selling these trucks as essentially rebuilt/modifies. Selling with a Cummins retrofit. Pretty neat

In my view the best liner is a bed rug. Have one in my 97 dodge since it was brand new. Of course I have a shell. Even when carrying messy stuff I put down a tarp. It vacuums up and or washes off nicely. Adds sound an temperature insulation. When I decide to buy a new truck I will most certainly put another bed rug in it.

I love the idea of a fuel tank in the bed of truck
Some neat ideas, It gives me some for my project truck. I have a 1988 Ford F250 7.3 IDI diesel extended cab long bed truck. I've swapped the tired 7.3 with a good condition used one so far.

Hi Stacey , love what you do at gears every build you do is awsome, do you remember a while back,I'm thinking 10 to 15 years ago , maybe when you were doing trucks , you did a show case on an aluminum foldable crane that could mount to a receiver hitch or mount it in the bed of the truck ??? Hope you remember !

What he failed to mention is that the truck is a king ranch edition diesel. The bed is useless now for hauling anything with all the tool boxes, this is more work truck than dual purpose.
There is a reason why you have a diesel........to pull a trailer to haul stuff.

-- Every weekend my son and I would race to the best seat in the house - the swivel reclining chair (I almost won once -- he might be younger and stronger - I;m simply Smarter. I don't think I'm such a bad dad because at the first commercial I would ask him to refill my coffee just to get in the recliner. I feel so guilty that next week I'll do it again cuz I just wanna make sure :)
-- Anyhowz - when deciding on location for an air compressor and tank and a storage box against the back bed wall my son and I have different thoughts on this. He say's you have it on the drivers side on this video so we should do it just like you. My take is this is it's a TV show to help us gearheads and mechanics to give us a path to walk on and not a show that shows you stuff and tells you to go pay someone else to do it.
-- You didn't put it on the passenger side because you need to show sponsor support, and you wanted to us what a finished job like this could look like and you would move it later to offset the weight and equal it out later after the show ended.
-- My question -- Does it matter to position the air compressor and tank on an opposite side to the driver because of drive-ability and steering stability? Now doing this really shouldn't matter on the size of air compressor and tank. Using a 2 gallon or 20 gallon tank - i think it shouldn't matter. What matters is drive-ability and vehicle stability.

The only problem with Herculiner is it is not UV protected, Yes they make additives to offset that but if you don't use them this stuff turns to chalky white in the sun. Ask me how I know...

Josh Kreiser I can think of a use for every single thing he put on because I actually use my truck the way it was intended to be used
Ya cuz the fire chief needs diesel fuel to make sure the fire has enough fuel, and compressed air to blow all the smoke away so the fire has plenty of oxygen.
@@colekitten1367 I can think of uses for all that stuff too, but more useful would be to have some bed space left. The generator could be swapped for a power inverter, and the air compressor could be mounted under the truck.

You need bed space to carry things
then take the tools out of the boxes and remove the boxes when you need more space, genius...

Well yeah if you're an idiot and think you have to buy everything here in one trip. Buy each piece one at a time and see this happen eventually.
I generally like the info Stacy gives, but affordable went out the window as soon as he said light bar. A good one is a grand or more, and that many additional lights was likely another grand. LEDs are awesome, but good ones aren't cheap.
It’s not a regular brand. It’s cheaper. I would’ve sucked it up and bought a new Whelen Liberty.
That is a nutty amount of lights. And hate that back window is unusable now.
I suspect a lot of forward effectiveness of those lights would be absorbed by being mounted low on that double cab roof
I had the 55g slip tank in my 08 f350 loved it. Could transfer while hauling Rvs
It’s a 6.4 . The most unreliable diesel ever. Napa doesn’t have the parts to fix it

Since the 6.7 ford has been solid, and I would have a hard time choosing between Ford, Chevy or dodge. All three make a solid HD that will pull so much you need a CDL to get within 10,000lbs of the max towing capacity.

Well now you don't have a bed so it's use as a truck is very limited. And who the hell puts that amount of lights on a truck aside from a 15 year old

Napa isn't a cheap place to get auto part's from ! They are the most expensive place around !
Not everyone uses or puts a generator in there truck unless there a welder or something

That’s were I struggle, Monday- Friday all work but weekends I’m camping biking outside having fun. So every Friday cleaning the bed of truck out & loading weekend stuff in.
