Found you guys! Actually found you twice. Once giving the thumbs up sitting down and again up the stairs holding the camera next to the floating head. Very cool picture. Machu Picchu is definitely on my bucket list. Keep the awesome videos coming. Getting smarter everyday.
I found Destin and the floating head.

+TheAnnoyingThingOutdoors so that you can use them to sell legally if you really want to, even if you aren't going to sell the photos you could very easily be prosecuted so it's worth the stress.

Go to the image... go tot he building at the highest, zoom in, look at the guy in the stripped shirt. There is a floating head.
not just the floating head, that's him in the stripped shirt...
maybe that's just because he move after the panorama taken in frames by frame.
He wasn't there when the 1st picture was taken.
They took pictures of the entire scene then went down and got another photo with them in it and overlapped them.
They lady had since moved.

There are also two people with missing lower halves, and a lady whose legs are screwed up. I was also able to find multiple clones as well. It's because multiple pictures were taken, then strung together into one big image. So people on the borders of the images will especially be affected.

No Destin is smiling at the camera with a thumbs up. You must have mistaken someone else for Destin. If you want to see Destin look at the tallest part of the city and work your way down the stairs.

Why do you need a permit to take some pictures..?
You can take fotos without permission! As long as they are for personal use.
Professional videos or fotos require permission

Ah ok that makes a lot more sense. I can imagine that professional productions can be bothersome if they bring large crews or a lot of equipment.
I thought it was just a shady way to get some extra money from tourists, I guess I'm a bit too cynical :).
If you wonder why, well it's their properties.
Like if i go to your home, taking pictures of your room and advertise it, people like it maybe you room is awesome.
But what i did is wrong, i should pay royalty to you. In this case he wasn't selling anything so a permit would be the last thing he need.

Nobody lives in Machu Pichu. It's not a home in that sense.
Peter Timowreef It belongs to the country, the government's properties, artifacts, monument. The one who asked for permit is not the one who live there, idk for real i assume they are working there.

I saw it too. There are a few faces floating around. I know the exposure is pretty fast since you clearly see people moving so IDK what's going on.
yeah at first i thought it might have been because of long exposure... but then i actually thought about it haha
Vic Vinegar That's where the pictures got stitched together, The exposure of every shot is very short but there is a time laps between shots.

My favorite part is zooming in on the mountain behind Machu Piccu -- it's called Huayna Piccu and you can see the elaborate terraces built to sustain living and planting. I was a difficult climb when I was there and much of what has now been uncovered was still overgrown with vegetation. Thanks for your work on this and sharing it!

Fascinating.
The binaural delay is what gives you the most information about a sound's location, both in the left-right plane as well as the distance of the sound. That's why I tend to use the ORTF stereo miking method when I want good depth and 3D audio field.

Hey Destin - question for you! I could see that nearly 2,000 images were captured in order to compile this panorama, but I was curious to know how you avoided motion blur from people moving around while going through this process and/or editing the image? I feel like without extensive editing there would be blurs of people all over the place!! Interested to know how this was overcome?

Then that same night I saw ur video of walking around Macchu Picchu in first person. It's kinda weird that I just read an article about what a UA-camr I subscribe to has done... The Picture is amazing :) very nice and what i thought was interesting is when you look at the buildings, you can kinda tell which ones were houses and which ones served another purpose just by looking at the way they're built!

I can take some good stuff with fast shutter speeds but especially for this type of shot a longer 'release', and I have even forgotten what the proper word for that is!
