As long as the ball is going at an upward trajectory off the net you can touch the ball twice on any defensive touch. It does not matter if you use the same body part twice. Each touch counts as two hits. If you soft touch the ball you cannot also put it back on the net. Meaning you can’t set yourself. After a soft touch is made your partner must put the ball back on the net.
