Hi Fareida, just wanted to finally let you know how my hair journey is going. I started around the end of march and I love my results! I have a suggestion for fenugreek tea. I found that I did not like soaking them over night and then using the water. It seemed wasteful for me to throw them away and I didn;t feel like the water was potent enough (also tried boiling). But I found that grinding the seeds much like you would grind coffee beans works even better! Then I would boil for a few minutes, let cool and then strain. The consistency is a little more gooey, but I truly like the effects of it. I was also going through terrible hair shedding until I finally tried onion juice. I am blending an onion with the fenugreek tea made this way and it has STOPPED the shedding. I also had severe split ends damage on the right side of my hair. You could see a big difference between the left and right sides. It was abnormally short and damaged compared to the left side. But thanks to your youtube channel, I have been able to REVERSE these problems and my hair is now almost 100% even and healthy. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! I feel more beautiful than ever!

Hi...I have been following you since 2014. Hey girl hey! I must say in 2014 I found you bought everything but was not consistent. I got sisterlocks in Oct 2019 but once the Covid started I was not able to get the reties and my hair matted. Long story short I started with your original oil again and my hair has recovered and is doing great. Thank goodness for you.
I have been playing around with oils for yearssss. I’ve been following your advice as well. Some of my favorites are Babassu and pumpkin seed oil. Babassu is similar to coconut but lighter and more tolerable. Pumpkin seed seems to be the perfect thickness for me and it’s supposed to block dht and I just love anything pumpkin. Thank you.

Hello from Austria. Thank you for this informativ video. Thanks especially for you saying we should talk to a healthcare provider before using an essential oil. Not everyone can/should use every oil out there. Some essential oils can be downright dangerous to use if you don't know how. For example, peppermint. It's an amazing plant and essential oil. But please, never, ever use it for children under the age of 8. It's been made responsible for sudden childdeath when they're infants. Peppermint is so cooling in/on the body, it literally can stop their breathing. So, used wisely on our adult hair, let the growth begin! 😊 (sorry for my english)
Can you do a video on hair porosity? And what to do with that, I get so confused oh my own hair porosity and what products to use with my hair porosity level etc...love you girl 💜🙏🏽😘😍
@Darlene GoodlettTell me more!😁...what have you noticed since the three weeks and how often do you apply the oils? I just started a day or two ago. Infused organic Fenugreek powder, with olive,Jamaican black castor oil and 3 essential oils. Used it on my edges only but plan on using on entire scalp on wash day.
I love your commitment to hair health and growth but I would never spend as much money as required to do all you do. But nuf respect for all you do. I just wanna do minimal products and keep it natural and simple.
Hey curly, subbie from Nigeria here and first time commenting (though I subscribed since last month). It's going to be long comment so bear with me. I just recently did my big chop, prior to that, I was able to grow my relaxed hair to about 14" since 2016. I used to relaxed my hair every 3 months but last year I noticed my hair was shedding more than normal whenever I take out protective styling and wash it so this quarantine period I decided to really get to know my hair and so I made the decision to go natural and cut my hair all off in my room. I noticed from the floating test that I have low porosity hair. Prior to cutting my hair, i love to do hot oil treatment before I wash and deep condition (I was using hair mayonnaise as deep conditioner but I stopped it post big chop as I read too much protein is bad for low porosity hair. I love, have and use plenty oils for it, they include Olive oil Avocado oil Jojoba oil Sweet almond oil Jamaican black castor oil Coconut oil (stopped using this recently when I read is not good for low porosity hair) Grape seed oil (added recently) Black seed oil (added recently) Sunflower oil Apricot seed oil(recently added) Palm kennel oil Tea tree essential oil Peppermint essential oil I usually just take about a teaspoon of each with few drops of essential oils, put into a bowl of very hot water and then, apply on my scalp and hair(i recently started scalp massage) and wear a steaming cap for 30mins then wash it out and deep condition then apply shea butter while my hair is damp (I recently stopped shea butter too as I read it is too thick for low porosity hair, I instead got a leave in cream which I apply and then seal with castor oil or any other single oil. I just want to know if this is okay or the oils are too much? Do you think I should reduce the oils? Do you think I should start sealing again with shea butter? (I really love shea butter and it is available here in Nigeria) I recently found your growth oils and I'm glad to say I'm presently infusing it now and also used it last week. I also got cassia, amla, shikakai and fenugreek. My NEW regimen (I'm quit lazy) is like this. I prepoo with fresh aloevera gel, rinse it out, Do the hot oil treatment, wash my hair with black soap (been using that since forever) deep condition with steaming cap for 2 hours. I alternate some times I use either herbs with conditioner or conditioner with honey and aloevera then I rinse it off and dry my hair a little then I go in with leave in cream, 1 type of oil I seal with either castor oil. 2 days after I spritz with water and apply the growth oil, I also spritz water and apply the oil on my scalp when my hair is in protective styling Please I really need your input, is this okay? I wash every 2 weeks, do you think that is too long? Also sometimes I wash my hair in protective styling after 1 week. But I generally decided to take down protective styling every 2 weeks (so help me God) unlike before my big chop where I could go up to a month in a protective style without moisturising or anything.
Bunny PJ....I have low porosity hair, and I pre-poo with coconut oil & aloe vera gel. Truly, it made my hair soft & manageable, b/c I was able to detangle after shampooing with a moisturizing shampoo. Try coconut oil for yourself & see if your hair will like it in its natural state?
Sounds like you have a good routine.....it's basically trial & error & what your hair likes. Use the products & see what works. Yes.....you must balance protein & moisture. "Green Beauty" has some wonderful videos as well. Best wishes growing natural, healthy & long hair!
Thank you @Gloria J Jackson, I will keep trying and see how it goes. For now, I'm not noticing any shedding as before although I still feel my hair is still too short to tell. So fingers crossed...
Looks like you've got it covered girl. Don't worry too much about what works for others or doesn't work for others, it's all about YOUR hair, so try a few things and see what works for you you. I am low porosity too and coconut oil works well as a pre poo for my hair and so does Shea butter. Learn your hair.
So pleased you are back to basics with this new series. Love it and thanks so much. On protective styles please address clip ins and and damage concerns.

I have the majority of these oils but thanks to your video, I have a much clearer understanding of how they work alone and synergistically. CP, you're such an inspiration! great video! curly chemistry on youtube also has a video that offers a scientific explanation of the benefits of essential oils! :) essential oils like peppermint and rosemary have terpenes, which penetrate deep into your skin and reach the hair follicle, directly affecting your hair growth. they still need to be diluted with a carrier oil though
Really informative video! I'm about to whip up some shea butter and make a herb infused hair oil!! I wanted to ask; for the cleansing video can you explain how to thoroughly cleanse without stripping? Thank you in advance 😊😊❤❤
Gratitude for your videos. My 4c hair stretched hits my sacrum!!! Question? Where did you purchase your pink turban head cap/steamer you use for deep conditioning? You posted that info before on a video a long time ago but can’t find it.
Can you talk about how to thicken your hair, ayurvédic nail hair, Ayurvedic cleansers, ingredients to stay away from, and talk about more oils ? Please :( I love your channel
Thank you. I loved that you started the video with the timing for your comments. There is so much to learn and it is sometimes overwhelming. My next "asks" are that you consider re-sorting your videos by "Oil Treatments", "Hair Refreshing Sprays" "Ayurvedic 101" (and even then break that down by powder, supplements, skin care, and even how to make Ayurvedic work on your hair if you have a health condition and cannot ingest some of the herbs and such), "Wash Routines" and "Revisiting the Past"; which takes a look at your much older videos and the product lines you used then. If knowing now what you knew then, would you delete that video, stick with it exactly as it was originally posted or update and tweak just a few steps. Lastly, I don't do all the social media. I just started a UA-cam log in to catch your work. Is there a way for the challenges on IG and FB to get posted here? All the best Goddess. You are an amazing resources for the curly, kinky, coily world.

I want to thank you so much for the wealth and knowledge you continue to provide on your platform. Two weeks ago I researched more oils to increase the potency of your original hair growth oil. I bought cedarwood and ginger essential oils. I’ve also added herbs and essential oils to my shampoo. This time I want to be consistent so thank you for this series 💜. We’ve waited way to long!!
I have 2C/3A hair and I pre-poo with oil and occasionally do a little bit of jojoba on the scalp, but I shy away from anything more because I'm afraid of weighing my hair down too much... But have been finding lately that my ends have been so dry and breaking. I didn't understand why, as I regularly deep condition, follow all the curly girl rules and all that. Think I definitely need to start oiling my ends!! Thanks!
Thank-you, I know you read my comment about doing a tutorial on oils. I have very fine and grey hair so the heavier oils work as a preepoo but the lighter oils seal in the moisture. :0)

@@naturalmane653 , right.
I’m late to the party, but I finally tried grape-seed oil and I just can’t stop. I’m so excited for this!
I love grapeseed oil. My hair hates Coconut Oil so grapeseed works wonderfully on my strands
Same. I Love grapeseed oil.
Do you mix the grapeseed oil with other oils? If yes then which ones, if you dont mind sharing. My hair hates coconut oil too so I avoid adding it even to my oil mixes

Thank you so much for watching queen!
I make my own hair treatment with almond oil, fresh aloe and banana peals. Since started to use this my hair has grown quite a bit and is much healthier.
“Don’t let the shrinkage fool you sis”
My hair stretched is still shorter than her shrunken hair 😩😩😩😩😩 #TheStruggleIsReal

So glad I found you I’ve been doing great with my 4c hair growth for the past 6 months (7 inches) this lockdown has been a blessing in disguise thank you for the great tips and instructions I’m ordering my oils and will add it to wash day and moisturizer day thank you again
Where has your channel been all these years??? I've researched natural hair care, and curly hair care and routines many times before, but only now have I come across your channel!!! I've been oiling my hair for years, they really are amazing for hair! My current issue is I've been trying lots of different shampoo options from organic/vegan brands, and so far no joy. I'm excited to try out Rhassoul with your recipes, which is how I found your channel! I'll definitely keep you posted.
Keep up the great work!!
Almond oil is my favorite. As soon as I started using it, I noticed a change in definition and my dry ends.
I've used Almond oil for two years after I did the big chop. My hair is now to the middle of my back. Luv it 😊
@@sharnab3032 do you guys use it as a sealant or as a mask?
@@orewahouston2143 I use it as a sealant on wash day (after shampooing & conditioning). After I use my leave in conditioner, I put on the oil and let my hair air dry
@Orewa houston I use as a sealant at least once a week
I am glad that u are doin a series of products that benefits your hair cause watching your videos I didn't know where to start, don't mind u had the videos separated but it was so much info at one time.
I started following your channel about two months ago, and my hair has benefitted soooo much from all your advice! I've been massaging my scalp using an infused oil mixture of fenugreek seeds, castor oil, olive, peppermint, rosemary, and lavender and my scalp loves it! I've also been using the black tea rinse and rice water rinse that have definitely revitalized my hair and decreased on shedding. It's getting noticebly thicker, and I’m so happy! I’m looking forward to adding the henna and amla to the mix soon! Thank you so much for your help!
Thank you for this video, I've learned so much from you!! I haven't been taking care of my hair for awhile as far as prepooing and deep conditioning as often as I should, but I have definitely been sticking with lubricating my ends with oil and scalp massages!! The oils have really helped grow my hair!! I LOVE grapeseed, olive and avocado oils!!💖
Yasss it’s starting! Glad to be here! Just finished catching up on my course studies!😜😉🤓
Hey we have the same name .... Welcome boo!
@@CurlyProverbz Yassss we do sis😉
Black castor oil changed my life!
The quickness that I click on your videos when notifications pop up is ridiculous lol!! I’m here with my got my notepad ready to learn! 🥰🥰😍
Yaaaaasss Gang gang! I appreciate YOU!!! You have no idea x
Curly Proverbz will always support!! Have learned so much from you! We appreciate you! My daughter will not experience the same things I did!
🤣😂...but seriously-it’s totally true!!!
Love these! Been taking notes. Long hair here we go!
Thank you love, can't wait to see how you get on.. share the before and after pics..
Deep conditioning and retaining moisture would be good topics for discussion
I was looking for info on essential oils yesterday! You read my mind 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
Ahhh the Lord orchestrates girl! This was for you x
Thank you.
What is dht?
She Shaw Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is an androgen. Too much can cause hair loss. Can contribute to hair loss. I’m a woman of a certain age so my hormones can be unbalanced.
I love watching your videos so informative. I’m ready for long healthy hair
Yess. I loving oiling my hair and scalp🥰
Its like Therapy!
I’m using grape seed oil because I have low porosity hair I cannot use heavy oils on my fine hair.
omg yes oiling our hair together 😍
Can you do a video on hair porosity? And what to do with that, I get so confused oh my own hair porosity and what products to use with my hair porosity level etc...love you girl 💜🙏🏽😘😍
She already did one

almond and olive are bomb for me, my hair HATES coconut! 3b/3c hair type
3 weeks into DYI oils a game changer. 4c and loving me
@Darlene GoodlettTell me more!😁...what have you noticed since the three weeks and how often do you apply the oils? I just started a day or two ago. Infused organic Fenugreek powder, with olive,Jamaican black castor oil and 3 essential oils. Used it on my edges only but plan on using on entire scalp on wash day.
That hair looks so moist and so so shiny
So excited for this series
Me to! 😊
I love your commitment to hair health and growth but I would never spend as much money as required to do all you do. But nuf respect for all you do. I just wanna do minimal products and keep it natural and simple.
I agree with applying a light mist of water to hair before adding oil for hot oil treatments. It makes a big difference.
I love, have and use plenty oils for it, they include
Olive oil
Avocado oil
Jojoba oil
Sweet almond oil
Jamaican black castor oil
Coconut oil (stopped using this recently when I read is not good for low porosity hair)
Grape seed oil (added recently)
Black seed oil (added recently)
Sunflower oil
Apricot seed oil(recently added)
Palm kennel oil
Tea tree essential oil
Peppermint essential oil
I usually just take about a teaspoon of each with few drops of essential oils, put into a bowl of very hot water and then, apply on my scalp and hair(i recently started scalp massage) and wear a steaming cap for 30mins then wash it out and deep condition then apply shea butter while my hair is damp (I recently stopped shea butter too as I read it is too thick for low porosity hair, I instead got a leave in cream which I apply and then seal with castor oil or any other single oil.
I just want to know if this is okay or the oils are too much? Do you think I should reduce the oils?
Do you think I should start sealing again with shea butter? (I really love shea butter and it is available here in Nigeria)
I recently found your growth oils and I'm glad to say I'm presently infusing it now and also used it last week.
2 days after I spritz with water and apply the growth oil, I also spritz water and apply the oil on my scalp when my hair is in protective styling
Please I really need your input, is this okay?
I love your channel. I learned so much. You really explain in a lot of detail compared to other UA-camrs!
So pleased you are back to basics with this new series. Love it and thanks so much. On protective styles please address clip ins and and damage concerns.
When she said “don’t let the shrinkage fool you” 😩 it sure did, bec your hair is already long as hell shrunken 😩😍
WOW!!! Thank you for an informative lesson on oils and the category breakdowns. I have the majority of these oils but thanks to your video, I have a much clearer understanding of how they work alone and synergistically. CP, you're such an inspiration! I keep forgetting to compliment you on your beautiful, thick hair. I keep urging my daughters to check out your beautiful hair and your videos, but so far, they haven't. I know when they do, they'll be hooked! You are a gem!
P.S. If you haven't already, you should write a book on hair.
Hi, I've got an question on cleansing do you use or recommend a sugar scrub for you scalp to help promote blood flow and remove build up, if so do you have a brand or diy recipe that you like. Thanks ?
Thsnk you for your time. You are amazing. I have bought amla, fenugreek, henna and many many more. I hope my hair grows. I will send you a picture of the result you are giving me. God bless you and family. Thank you.

Babe ... Thank you. So grateful for your support x
Hey Michelle!
great video! curly chemistry on youtube also has a video that offers a scientific explanation of the benefits of essential oils! :) essential oils like peppermint and rosemary have terpenes, which penetrate deep into your skin and reach the hair follicle, directly affecting your hair growth. they still need to be diluted with a carrier oil though
Hello Curly Proverbs, I love your hair, you have so much hair. XOXO hair licious.
Really informative video! I'm about to whip up some shea butter and make a herb infused hair oil!! I wanted to ask; for the cleansing video can you explain how to thoroughly cleanse without stripping? Thank you in advance 😊😊❤❤
Yess I'm so here for this taking notes. 📝
We didn’t talk about avocado oil 🙀 🥑
It is my favorite!

It's great for high porosity hair!

Stephanie Morris Yeah and also babassu oil

Gratitude for your videos. My 4c hair stretched hits my sacrum!!! Question? Where did you purchase your pink turban head cap/steamer you use for deep conditioning? You posted that info before on a video a long time ago but can’t find it.
Can you talk about how to thicken your hair, ayurvédic nail hair, Ayurvedic cleansers, ingredients to stay away from, and talk about more oils ? Please :( I love your channel
Who disliked this video? She's so Informative.
Thank you for the love❤
You make the best videos. I like, comment, and even watch the ads. Your energy is so positive 🥰

Hi! Could you share more of your transition routine? I have struggled with this every time I tried to go all natural. I am currently relaxed and wanting to be free of it... but scared of a big chop😔.
If you are new to oils or new to a specific oil, test it first on your hair and scalp to ensure the oil doesn't irritate or cause issues.
Use Cedarwood alot but never for hair. Thank you really appreciate this and cannot wait to try it xx

Thanks!
