- When anyone mentions musk, the first fragrance that comes to my mind is Kiehl's Original Musk. It's been around for a while and is a barber shop classic. I don't think there is anything even remotely feral about this one. But not all noses are alike. This is simply a clean skin scent that would probably be very much appreciated by those who are not particularly fond of fragrance in general. Grab a bottle from the store: www.kiehls.com

I bought this on a whim, in a daze while rushing through the airport, intent on my next flight and getting home. I rushed to my gate which had started boarding, smelling it on my wrist - wondering why I had stopped to buy perfume when I didn't even have time, and why did I just buy a grandfather scent???? And yet... I kept smelling my wrist. At some point during my flight, I smelled it again, all traces of grandfather gone, all that's left is honey and soft powder, it's very sweet and feminine on me. This one really changed a lot!
I'm not a musk-lover BUT I recognize that this is a gem. Glad you're appreciating its transformation on skin!
@@SCENTGOURMAND Sometimes perfumes can really surprise you, I HATE lily, musk usually gives me negative associations, and I don't even particularly like honey scents. But somehow it beat my expectations. You just never know until you wear something. 😁. Perfumes are so fun

Yeah, honestly, musk is generally very hit or miss; it depends on your preference! Either go to Kiehl's or take a bling buy risk!
Any suggestions for a musk smell that is less soapy and more spicy other than Muscs Koublai Khan. Thank you!

Have you tried byredo: M/mink?
Or Salome by Papillon Perfumery? It's really skanky jasmine with cumin, but it might strike your fancy.

OMG good question. Musk scents do all tend to live very close to the skin. In the pricy range there is F. Malle's Musc Ravageur. A decent dupe for that (in my opinion) is Méharées from L'Erbolario - a warm, spicy and comforting musk I love (must review that soon!)
Is it possible you meant to say "feral" not "fecal"? look up the difference 😉
Fur vs poop, eh? Yep, I do know the difference. Fecal smells tend to accompany ouds more than musks, though, so it’s possible I slipped… will have to rewatch (hate watching myself).
