1.4a-Placing of Dimension Systems in Engineering Drawing: Aligned and Unidirectional Systems

- This video with audio can be seen here: • 1.4b-Placing of Dimens...
This video teaches two systems of placing dimensions in engineering drawing: Aligned System and Unidirectional System. You should learn both systems but use only one in a drawing. One drawing must follow either Aligned or Unidirectional system of placing dimensions. Dimensioning also requires good lettering to write the dimensions. Remember, you should only write the dimension in millimeter. No need to write the word "mm" or "millimeter", just the number. It is understood that the dimensions are in millimeters. Other important tips, never ever dimension more than what is just necessary and one dimension of the object should never be dimensioned twice, for example in two different views. Proper spacing between two dimension lines, size of the numbers relative to the size of the drawing are to be practiced.

background music is awesome .
when i was watching this video i felt that I'm watching tom and jerry show😁😁❣❣❣
👍
Thank You very much Sir. You have cleared all my doubts.
A very big thank you to you Sir.

Nice have sound you makes me happy and not tired to study
I'm glad 👍✔

Thank you most helpful video ❤️❤️
👍👍
Thank you so much ❤️
You’re welcome 👍
Sir ye video mujhe bahut achha lga thanku sir
Thanks for your nice comment!
Thank you sir
there is a dimension missing on the drawing, you have the vertical distance from the bottom horizontal edge to the center of the circular feature as 30, but you forgot to dimension the horizontal distance.
You are right. Thanks for pointing. For circular features like this one, one may also think of symmetry. That means the centre of the hole should be right at the middle of the feature.
I appreciate you sir
🙏🙏

Sir I want drawing of the kerosene litter mesure can
sure, go ahead 👍
Thank you sir ❤️
Most welcome✔👍
Sir, thank you so much for the video! It helped me a lot.
1 request was that, if u can make a video on chain dimensioning.
It would be very appreciated thing.
Thank you again.
Thanks for the complements and suggestion! I will try.
Thanks a lot sir 🙏

You are right. I will try for all future videos. Thanks for your comment!
Yes ..I agree with u
bahut mast video hai sir
👍
thank you sir..
Most welcome👍
Wonderful
👍 Thanks
Sir. In unidirectional method non- horizontal lines are not interrupted this is a rule. But you interupt horizontal lines in unidirectional method sir?
In unidirectional, both horizontal and non-horizontal dimension lines are broken at the centre and the dimensional number is written. The number is always written in normal way that is left to right (no tilting or inclination in writing number is necessary). What I have shown is correct.
Nice explaination
👍
Love it
👍
Sir please reply there is any role of H1,H2 pencil
You should only use H and 2H pencil. Never use HB in ED
What is the diameter of the circle?
20 mm
thanks
Welcome 👍
Sir please bta dijiye ki engineering drawing m kon si pencils use krni h....hamara kl exam h
2H for all lines, H for outlines. Never use HB pencils. You should manage with 2H or H by applying different pressures. Outlines are thick lines. All other lines are mostly thin lines. 👍
Sir can I use unidirectional dimensioning in exams?
Yes, you can but stick to only one system of dimensioning. But check your question properly, if the question asks any one system then you have to use that one. Do not use both systems in one drawing. Students often make this mistake and loose marks!
@@1styearengineeringdrawing182 sir, while showing radius of circle how can we do that in unidirectional method
______are those dimensions that should not necessary appear on the drawing.
1- functional dimensions
2- object dimensions
3- non- functional dimensions
4- auxiliary dimensions
Ans?????
Dimensions should appear on the drawing following proper standards. Dimension of one edge or feature in one view should not be repeated in another view. Thanks for asking!

Is all your videos are correct to follow in public examinations
Definitely you should check with other sources if in doubts. Your feedback will help improve the videos.
Thank u for replying sir
Your videos are helpful for me

Ye compass se circle k liya distance kitna liya h
Diameter is 20 mm, radius 10 mm
Sir both are same what is the difference between this two daigrams
System of dimensioning is different. Left one is Aligned and the right one is unidirectional system of dimensioning. It is different in the way the arrows are drawn and the way the dimensions are oriented. Please check in the video.
Only arrows are different sir
In aligned system, the arrow line or dimension line is continuous but in unidirectional it is broken in between. The orientation of the dimension or the number 20, 30 etc are next to the dimension line in the orientation given for aligned. In the case of unidirectional, the number is written in between the broken part of the dimension line and in the orientation as given in the video.
Thanks for clearing my doubts🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
You are most welcome. Your queries will help others in similar doubts!
