    Great Video Andrew, Would be fantastic to expand area of beans grown in this Country to cut down on imports. We could do with a few more like You in Government, then We,d have a proper approach to food production instead of what we,ve got with a lot of people taken it all for granted. Keep up the good work 🙂

    Hello Andrew congratulations on being the first to grow British Baked Beans.
    And another first for Lincolnshire agricultural history you must be so proud after all the hard work?
    If only our stupid governments started to appreciate agriculture instead of house building. How far humans have moved away from the agricultural/countryside way of life in the 40/50’s to now.
    Thank you for keeping us updated with your videos of what is happening.
    We miss seeing the agricultural arable side up here in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 since we left Lincolnshire 7 years ago. Thank you Andrew and team.

    Just found the channel & subscribed. From a non farming background, very interesting how food is produced today from a modern farm. The header on the combine, is that for beans only or can it be used for corn, rape seed etc?. It is a shame you cannot do a half hourly programme through the week on a main channel to show the ups & downs of putting food on the table operating a modern farm. People would find it most interesting. Look forward to the next video.

    • @WardysWaffleAndrewWard

      The header can be used on all crops but is not cheap. Over £100,000 if buying one outright. See update 174, we have one on a demo Case combine in wheat.

    Is it we using wrong kit they nearly need a peaviner head to pick them up. So low !! I know the yanks use a blower system that helps blows them into the head. Keep at it Andrew bloody fascinating and a crop we should be growing in the uk 🇬🇧

  • @martinmorris8862
    @martinmorris8862 Рік тому +1

    Shame the plot combine doesn’t have a mini flexi.
    Have you looked at using a blower on the Header Andrew to stop the losses. If you look at Millennium farmer over in the USA he has the blower system on the Honeybee header and Now on the John deer header. Cant see any reason why the MacDon's ClearCut FD series flexdraper headers cant be fitted and stop the loss from the header especially when is on that angle to lift the beans being so low. Good job the new sprayer is not far away. Sods law the old girl was going to break down before it went lol. Good luck with the beans . looking forward to having some Wardys beans on me waffle 😁😁

    Great video Andrew, 2 observations on the harvest of the capulet beans ive noticed in america they flat roll bean fields after planting to aid harvest as there scalping the field so less chance of stone damage and soil contamination, and air system on the header to try and prevent header loss with roll back! The latter obviously only practical if grown over a larger acerage cost wise! Great to see the beaming smile on erics face at the results you've all acheived through hard work and determination

    • @WardysWaffleAndrewWard
      @WardysWaffleAndrewWard  Рік тому +1

    Andrew, I think your videos are brilliant - there are always going to be technical glitches doing them the way you do, but the critical thing for me is to get them out quickly. No point having a perfect video coming out in 6-weeks time. My only gripe is the wind noise when you do not have your protected mike with you. It is great how you do try innovations in farming, I am sure that is the way forward for farmers.

    • @WardysWaffleAndrewWard

    We used to grow a lot of tomatoes around here but we hardly ever see them any more, I think they must all be imported, someone said Sth Africa more likely Australia. NZ has got expensive to do anything. Hard to believe 2 million cans of beans a day, or is that meant to be a week. Imagine the distribution network to deliver and the complex systems built around super markets, which I like to avoid.
