The audio in this video was recorded with in-ear binaural microphones. If you wear headphones, your mind won't be blown, but it will go, "woah, that's cool."
I'm also the producer for the Winding Road UA-cam Channel:
/ windingroadmagazine
Here on TheTopher, I'm known for putting a camera on my face and driving cars. Whether it's about any of my personal cars or reviews on weekly press vehicles, the goal is to give you an idea of what a certain car is like to drive or live with. Most of my videos are filmed in POV, with my clothes on, and (for like the 5th time) with in-ear binaural audio. Which, if I haven't made it clear yet, is why you should wear headphones. Because of the whole "woah" factor. It's there, trust me. Try it, it's pretty nuts. Or don't. As long as you whitelist me on your adblocker I'm okay with whatever you do or don't do with regards to headphone usage. That is all. Oh and I guess you should also probably subscribe. Why are you still reading this, you should be watching the video. With headphones! Hah, had to sneak that in there one more time. Later! - Авто та транспорт
Watched this in class with headphones and the audio was so nice I thought it was coming out of my speakers
@MankaroyTM 😂😂😂😂 that would have been me
I would say, pay attention in class instead of watching videos so you can pay for toys like this in later live, but I was a lousy student and my life turned out ok ;)
Chris Hoggett I heard investing is good but I’m young so I don’t know too much
That’s just your headphones bro xd
I came from watching mustang videos. I wish I could afford a Camaro. I can afford a mustang. But as of now, I am backing out of that buy. Back to saving.
Smart move
worth the wait for sure
Update If you bought it or not.
Same!! I'm saving for a 1SS over the Base GT. Lol I'm glad I didn't rush the purchase
I traded my 2015 Mustang GT in for a 2018 Camaro exactly like this one! Best to save up, and get what you want, than buy one vehicle and regret it later on!
Good point on the “fish eye” lens on the mirrors. I got the adjustable swivel base mirrors for my 18’ SS1LE. Works beautiful, especially for freeway driving and quick lane change decisions ect. Got em at O’ Riellys.
This is VERY different from the previous gen platform... The fact that it's assembled at the same facility as Cadillac ATS says it all (before it had been built in Canada). Alpha platform + Corvette engine + 2019 facelift is what made me order one of these (just 2 more days until delivery!!!)
Very controversial lol. Not a lot of people like the new ones. Congrats though!!
Just bought a 19 2ss 1le in that steel grey. Pickup in one week. Beyond excited.
Love the night reviews, thanks !!
First time watching your video with headphones. 👍👍👍👍👍👍 binaural audio makes a world of difference
Good morning
Time for a NIGHT review lol
Love this man’s video!!! Brings the best content no lie!!!
7:24, 35 to 90mph in no time
Doug Reynolds lol I thought ur channel was More Doug Demuro lol
PHANTOM MEDIA - Cars, RCs, and Lego Technic Lol
Nice car man! I like the sound of acceleration!
Yes, those blind spot mirrors work wonders in sport coupes!
I'm happy with my 2017 Challenger RT, but man is that a nice car.
Nice car the 2017
I own a 2018 ZL1 1LE...manual. Love it! Enjoy. BTW, the ZL1 1LE comes with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R tires (the regular ZL1 comes with "3", not "3R"). I had a ZL1 before I stepped up to the ZL1 1LE and there is a noticeable difference...and the 3s are slick enough as it is! But those babies grip like velcro once they get warmed up.
I own the 1LE 2SS camaro and its so much fun to drive, Just the clutch you need to get used to it grabs at a high spot vs most. Ill try make a video of it sometime before winter comes.
Boy Austin, I’ll say the clutch takes some getting used too. Discovered this feature it springs on you when you are on a hill. It sets the brake to hold the car, while you are trying to get going. There is a moment of “WTF”?? Then the info pops up on the instruments panel will chime tone. I had no idea it even could do that. I can do without it, as well as the 1 to 4 shift lock out trip. I got that one taken care of...😬
This video sold me I guess I'm getting a 2018 2ss 1le this winter
Love my 81 Camaro but watching that thing makes me want a new one
Playing in Livonia, I see. I was playing around there with my challenger this weekend.
I have a 2016 2SS 6 speed in nightfall grey. I absolutely love it. Best sports car under 50K.
sweet
Marcus McPherson Can someone that’s 6’5” fit in it?
Marcus McPherson ehh I prefer a 392 charger or challenger or scat pack they’re faster
@@killer_vette351 I would think so. I'm 6'3, 208 lbs and I'm comfortable in it. I don't even have my seat all the way back either.
@@jasonloera3358 Straight line speed, I'd say they are dead even. It would be a driver's race tbh. On a road course however, the Camaro is without a doubt faster.
These pov videos are so cool
I use to work at Baptist East. Never forget that damn garage.
I'll try to get my hands on a 2018 2SS Hot Wheels Edition one day. If I can't, I'll settle for a 2SS in Hyper Blue or Garnet Red, either one is get with the Kalahari interior. 6MT is an obvious yes.
One of the Best Camaros ever made! I would love to own one, then I would have a real life hot wheels
That noise though ❤️❤️
it makes the right sounds! And a manual H pattern transmission.
I m looking to buy a salvage one love your videos.
Mustang GT
Camaro SS
Challenger Scat Pack
Best trio ever
Lordofgiey666_official yup
Scat Pack
Mustang GT
Camaro SS
The challenger is the only remaining Muscle car left. The rest have converted to sports cars.
I absoululty love mine. 2017 SS and opted for 6 speed deff worth it. The stock cats rob so much power it should be illegal. First mod were kooks 2 1/2in longtube into gutted cats and mufflers delete. Gained over 75 rwhp and 70rwtq with cai and tune. rpm motorsports ftw. Completely changed the car with simple bolt ons.
reliable?
I want one. Would be great on Texas back roads
No heads up display or lane watch in the hot wheels?
This is the same area the "Winding Road Magazine" does his videos?
That Camaro looks sick! ;O
does the 2ss have the switchable rearview mirror to camera option?
Do you use a go pro head setup?
Can you review a 6th gen camero v6?
When you drove this car, did you notice any clunks or rattles? Any mechanical clinking while shifting through gears?
No it’s a Camaro
OMG this car is a grail! 🙏🏼😍
That's my dream car right there I'm gonna save every dime until I turn 16 to get myself one of those like damnnnnn
Mine is the zl1
It’s not worth getting an expensive car like that as soon as you get your license. Get a shitty one you can pay off in cash and keep saving. That way you will have enough to support yourself when your older instead of spending every penny you have on an expensive car
@@kalebcrawford1492 I was always told them same thing, went ahead and did it anyways. Just need a good job and you can do it at a young age, i have the same car, high intrest rate and insurance but my job makes up for it.
X Kyle. Yea but is not a smart move. I waited 3 almost 4 years to get it. now that im older (23) i was able to get it with low interest and low insurance. You save big money if you wait.
What microphone did you use and where located? Beautiful sound !
Roland CS10-EM and they’re in his ears.
Holy shit I had no clue the interior looked so fuckin cool
Need to get ur hands on a SS 1LE. Totally different feel compared to a regular SS
I Agree
What exhast system does it have? Sounds REALLY Goood
Probably stock lol, I can't believe how good this car is
I HAVE THE EXACT SAME CAMARO, 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANS, NO SUN ROOF 👍, DUAL MODE EXHAUST, MAGNETIC RIDE SUSPENSION, AND NAVIGATION. THERE ARE 255 HOT WHEELS SS 6 SPEED COUPES IN THE U.S., AND MOST OF THEM THAT I HAVE SEEN HAVE THE SUN ROOF.
Can you factory order this vehicle?
I see you're in michigan, killer. I own a 2010 Camaro SS, It's an AUTO. Wanted Manual, but Auto is more practical for my lifestyle, and my fiance. It has a full trans tune, and engine. Full Corsa Exhaust and an Intake, I LOVE IT. It's nothing like these new ones, but it's so tight in the handling and steering, gives A LOT of feedback, I'm running the staggered 245 front 275 rear setup, w/ General G Max Tires, they grip up well. The car corners well for its massive weight. I Love it.
Also listening with Phillips SHP9500's, with the Schitt fulla stack, I love it.
Does it have a brake hold?
I consider being a car enthusiast a curse. Such a fun, addicting, curse.
I'm surprised Chevy Camero has been low key about quality issues. Nothing major stands out like Ford products. I'm assuming they've improved their quality control.
No heads up display?
How tall are you?? Just wondering for reference cuz I am considering a camaro and I heard visibility can be an issue
He is 5”10
GOOD MORNING ITS TIME FOR A NIGHT DRIVE LAWL
Went and put on my sony mdr-xb950s and damn
Is that your daily driver
Is it a 1LE? Didn't see the black hood but you said Eagle F1 tires. I'm thinking about getting a Camaro SS 1LE when I'm done with my BRZ.
Its an excellent upgrade. You'll love the horsepower aspect of it when you get to that point too :)
I think that the Hot Wheels edition and the 1LE handling packages are mutually exclusive. All Camaros have 'Eagle F1' tires, but there's different variants of that tire.
Get the SS1LE...it is a nice piece of work for the money for sure. GM got it right, and you won’t be disappointed. I had a 71’ Z28 with a track suspension set up back in the day, and my 18’ SS1LE will drive circles around it. The F1 tires are a little spooky when cold, and down right scary in wet/damp roads. They wear out quick. I replaced with the Michelin Sport Pilot 4 series and very close dry performance, WAY quieter, and impressive wet/rain adhesion. Very sticky too. I’m supercharged so it blows them off too, but it’s a safer all around tire suited for this car. Save the F1’s for warm weather only track excursions. If you are a Camaro, or Vette guy...I think the SS1LE will put a smile on your face every time you fire up to drive, anywhere!
TBSSPILOTviews you had to tell us it’s supercharged
Funny.. I came from a BRZ and recently bought a SS 1LE. You won't regret it, GM nailed it with this one.
My dream car
I don't think the Camaro qualifies as a muscle car any more. It is a real sports car. You could argue that the LT1 1LE is a supercar.
Well that depends. Is a 2018 Porsche Turbo S a supercar? How about a 2017 Porsche GT3? How about a 2016 Ferrari 488 GTB? Because they are all slower around the Nurburgring than the Camaro LT1 1LE.
Norwegian Blue being a supercar is so much more than ring times
It seems the definition of supercar varies greatly these days. Let's say the LT1 1LE is not a super car. It CERTAINLY is not a "muscle car" by any definition. Muscle cars are/were regular cars equipped with oversized engines and maybe a few tweaks to the suspension and tire swaps, but were only good for cruising around and maybe a day at the drag strip. They could never compete on a race track and weren't designed to do so.
@@norwegianblue2017 not here to argue, just wanted to point out it's called "ZL1 1LE" not LT1 1LE. Carry on lol
Norwegian Blue can I just say, regardless of whose opinion is what, the way you argued your point is so nice. No condescending tone, no sarcasm, no profanity, etc. just you presenting your arguments straight up and listening to others while making counterpoints. It’s so nice to see. Thank you for being a good person!
P.S. I agree that its now in super car territory.
If you listen to this with good headphones..... this video is literally actual sound experience..... POV of 2018 camaro ss owner ** side note: actual experience needs the factory perf exhaust**
Soon
How is the handling on a camaro like that
I'm about 19
Years old
And I'm looking to
buy a camaro in the future
If I get a good job
The only v8 I've ever driven is on old c/k square body
With a 5.7l v8
I daily drive a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze
I live in Wisconsin
And I've driven the chevy Cruze through snow
And on icy roads and it handles well
The only down side is that the rear wheel drive
On the camaro might not be so.good
For the winter
So I suppose I could get a second car
Could I drive the Camaro at the speed limit without getting
In trouble
Shem McGee I wouldn’t recommend driving any RWD car in the snow even with snow tyres. Wide low profile tyres are a huge risk. Ideally get a 4x4 or FWD motor.
Take the risk and do it bought my 2017 ss at 19 now I’m 20 do not regret it what so ever
Tiring day at work
Night drive baby
Shoutout schoolcraft😉😉
Sounds great. I had the rear cats removed from mine. Had it up to 176mph stock.
Geez, that's amazing
I need one
Did he just said good morning
Why does this manual car have paddle shifters on it's steering wheel?
To turn on/off active rev matching.
you can hear the already warped brake rotors lol
Nice car, but im gonna stay in the boat club
Should i buy a bmw m3 or camaro 2ss 2018
the camaro!
Can you do a manual scatpack challenger?
You see the new video, Not a manual but a scatpack challenger
@@lazy_g1238 yeah sir. It was a bonus since it was a night drive :)
U checked the tire temperature but didn’t even allow the engine to warm up before driving, revving the engine, or slamming the gas
That’s because the engine was already warm, see the coolant temp gauge
TheTopher makes sense, I just kno a lot of people who actually do tht and didn’t want u hurting tht beast
@@TheTopher bro i want do buy me the same camaro in August. Does it have a softlimiter when you are in neutral? Would be good to know
Manual with paddles??👀
They’re for rev matching, pull the downshift or upshift specific lever and the car will match for you
I know bro didnt just hold the door by the window… MY SOUL
LOL some of the biggest pot holes are in Michigan!
I’m want one so bad, but my insurance quoted my monthly payment over $500 :|
Good morning! It's time for a night drive
'That doesn't make any sense'
2:20 is the reason why GM makes the best V8s in the world
Audi S5????
Joe Spittle yeah
I have a 2011 camaro ss 6mt I should of bought a new one tho
Slap a zl1 spoiler on that thing and modify your exhaust. Your regret will wash away. I have the same car, hold onto it!!! I have a feeling this car will be a classic. It's already starting to appreciate.
Frank Smith fifth gen and sixth gen are totally different
Those rims... 😔
Heated seats is a waste of money tbh. Nice but not really needed
😔
Is the 2019 one ugly

can you really drive this in the snow without death
Slow-wipe oh yeah forsure
This car gonna be a deadth trash in montreal winter
Yes, but winter or snow tires are almost required.
Since I got my license 4 years ago I could never and still can't afford two seperate cars so when winter comes here in California and my friends and I go snowboarding I always have used my muscle car that I had at the time. I've taken mustang, challenger, and camaro. Most of them didn't even have traction control let alone stability control. And don't even think I had anything other than summer tires. As long as you have chains and common sense it's fun because you literally just fishtail back and forth whenever you want and in my opinion it's safer than a fwd because I can drift my way out of a sticky situation. Knock on wood I've never had a problem yet.
Second!
Suppose you didn't know how to drive a manual transmission like a guy like me how throaty would this car be oh wait I'll just experience the ride in the passenger seat looking out the window
It's not hard to learn to drive manual, I worked at Ford dealership for a few months and I learned on 2017 gt in about a few hours
@@derrekmcfarlane7872 that definitely true it's not hard but everyone learns at there own paste
@@murkinranzyz9961 if you get the chance definitely learn
Transmission doesn’t change the sound of the car.
Auto would still be throaty and faster.
2019 with the 10-speed is 4 seconds flat in 0-60.
@@DragonKnightX12 God damn that's pretty throaty
Alcantara on a steering wheel is the dumbest thing ever. After a few years it'll feel like crap and you'll be stuck getting a cheap wheel cover from AutoZone. Oh yeah, you can't because of the flat bottom...
It's called "replacing"
@@DrSpotless So replacing something that shouldn't even need it to begin with? Ha! Makes complete sense!
It's just suede and you can clean it every once in a while and it won't get like that. Ur skin obviously has lots of oils in it and that builds up in it
So yall know the Camaro is not a muscle car is categorized as a sports car two different things
Hhhhhhhhhhhh
Automatic.. I’m out.
The inside looks boring
I like to challenge bettebigger
Cool...if i was your passenger, i would have ripped out your turn signal....
I've always hated the center screen and how it almost tilts downward. Otherwise a nice car, too bad they ruined the 2019 model by trying to make it look more like a Mustang. Like yeah the Mustang is the best selling sports car in the world, and is overall better than the Camaro, but it would've been more interesting had they done something unique. And now with the GT 500 coming out... Camaro is not gonna be talked about much.
John Nazario the center screen is pointed down to reduce glare from the sun. It stinks but thats how it had to be. Also, performance wise the camaro shits on the mustang and thats just a fact. Its definitely slept on though.
Wow it’s almost 2019 and people still buy Chevrolet.
The signal noise is highly irritating; I wouldn't use them.
Stop signaling!!! What a wuss
