From a Lightning fan - the Montreal Canadiens will forever have my respect for this unbelievable run. It was nothing short of magical, the stuff fairy tales in sports are made of. Underdogs in every series, never really respected or appreciated. But they never gave up, they never quit. They kept fighting every minute, every period, every shift on the ice. And look, I even said that if the Lightning lost to the Habs in the Final, I would be upset, but I ultimately wouldn't mind it. They are made of the kinds of things champions should be made of. I feel bad that my team is the team that had to put them down, but unfortunately, that happens more often that not - the superior team ends the Cinderella story. But Habs fans, you should be proud of this team. They certainly did enough to earn you being proud of them.
It all came down to determination. That and Carey Price. Vasilevsky is amazing, make no mistake. Definitely one of the top three goalies in the league, maybe even top two. It comes down to those two for the very best right now. I feel that the Habs just couldn’t compete with how good the Bolts were all around. Tampa had great players, sure, as do the Oilers. But the Oilers pretty much only have a couple of great players and nothing else. The Lightning have some of the best depth I’ve seen. Them and this year’s Avalanche are amazing teams in every aspect.

Honestly each series had a memorable moment. Kk singlehandedly killing leafs nation in game 6, Price's ridiculous saves vs the leafs, Toffoli sweeping Winnipeg, the dramatic OT goals in Vegas (karma for Perry and making the finals), and winning the first finals game since 1993 against a 100 million dollar team. While it had a sad ending for us (and almost the entire NHL), they shattered my expectations and gave me the most memorable run I've ever seen; hopefully they come back here and give Price, Weber and Gallagher a Stanley Cup.
Thank you Habs for this amazing Playoff journey you gave us. Our young core team really rose up to the challenge and with the great veterans we had they learned a lot. Curious to see what Bergevin will do this offseason to help us return to the Stanley Cup Finals and hopefully have Price lift that Cup!
Was so much fun and amazing to watch this run.. I'm 35 years old now, live in BC, and my dad was and is a huge Canadiens fan, so I would watch with him as a kid.
