I am Japanese and have been a big fan of this song in original Japanese version. Not sure who wrote the English version of the lyrics but its nuance is very different from the original version. Original version was a beautiful heart-break song but she doesn’t get ‘clingy’ to the ex or ex’s memories and not wishing the ex to come back at all and She was grateful that she had him in her life and learnt to love someone deeply. The singers voice is lovely but to be honest, the English version lyrics is a let down to me, as it completely changed the nuance of the original version.
I do not think so. Both version beautiful in their own way. I even think more people prefer the English lyrics, because most people feel sad and have a deep sense of regret when they miss their ex. If you feel graceful when you think about your ex, most of the time because they passed away, or you do not love them anymore😂
