Marco along with Virgil are on that special level of extraordinary that almost all professional drummers will never realize. A true gift from God.
5 over 4 and 7 over 4 and 3 over 4 at the same time? My god, this is incredible!
You figured all that out? You're incredible!
I only ever saw the part from around the 4:00 minute mark, never knew it was the END of a TWENTY MINUTE LONG TAKE. No wonder he's bringing it home
The little melody he does with the cymbals is just fantastic!
Omg, I love that guy!
Humor + creativity + technique + musicality = Marco Minnemann! :D
A level of drumming that only 0.1% of drummers can aspire to.
Now that.. Was a tasty solo. Nicely done, Marco. ;)
I'm not a drummer, I'm a keyboardist. This is great for improvising on it.
The best !!!
Him and Thomas Lang. Alien drummers.
Every drummer has something different than others...
Listen to part 1 for the groove.
He's a K man! YEAH!
ДЛЯ СТУДЕНТОВ !
Qualify that.....0.001%!

That's it... I'm quitting drumming...
my .....pants..........now.........wet
you can't pick up the groove? 3:22 isn't groovy as hell? Or 4:30? Or appreciate the absolutely insane polyrhythm/limb independence here? That's sad. "Boring but techncial"? You must be thinking of Mangini, Kollias, Derek Roddey, etc. And Minnemann has some of the best "grooves" I've ever seen - watch his performances with The Aristocrats, or search youtube for "Marco Minnemann Modern Drummer 2006". Some of the most catchy, brilliant, and unbelievably interesting grooves I've ever seen
drum solos don't have to be "groovey" to be good. I agree with you on the boring part a little though. (:
The only thing you can measure that is not subjective is speed, and Mangini is faster. The rest depends on personal taste.
He is amazing, but Jose Pasillas, for example, has something different.
@juckfohn it was Mike Mangini.... he knew Marco is way better than him... by far
OOps! someone hit the dislike button
Where is the groove? That´s really boring drumming. Very technical but ...
