I bought the Adex Wildman Club last week and I've been swinging it every other day. I've started at 5 lbs. and I feel it. I have an adjustable kettlebell on order that is due next week. I am 52 years old and have issues with tight hips and lower back pain. I'm working on the 3 exercises for deconditioned people with kettle bells and clubs.

@@michaelc5349 I'm in that club too. I've been doing the Mobility Program from Strong and Fit and the Mill/Squat program. Started at 10 and am up to 20. The Mobility program is excellent for getting rusty hips and backs and shoulders moving again.

My dad taught shop just east of East LA. Half the businesses down Valley Blvd in City of Industry are run by his students. I would have loved to show him some of your videos before he passed.
I'm reminded of the back room in his shop, where I learned to cut and weld with gas. He scavenged scraps from manufacturing outfits for students' projects, and that back room was full of such scraps and sample projects. 🙂
PS: The Adex Wildman club and the new Bells of Steel Wildman competition adjustable kettlebell are best of class, in my opinion.
PPS: I just _love_ the drive shaft mace.

Your videos are very engaging. I started single hand swinging with 1# and 3# Indian clubs which I already had, and now want to go heavier with 2 hand swings. The ADEX system looks amazing, but it is too much of an investment until I know for sure I’ll stick with it (and they seem to be out of stock again). So I figured I’d start with an inexpensive 10# or 15# Onnit. But they are out of stock too.
So I improvised and built my own club: Attached a 1” x 10” galvanized pipe (34mm OD) to a 3/4” x 12” galvanized pipe (1.05” OD) via a reducer. Used a floor flange for the bottom of the club, which is the 3/4” pipe, and put a cap on the handle (1” pipe). Then went to a used sporting goods store, and bought a whole stack of standard 1.25# cast iron barbell plates. Paid $0.99 per pound. These have a nominal 1” hole, and (most) will fit nicely over the 3/4” pipe. (A few of them were too tight, and needed a bit of grinding to enlarge the hole). They are about 3.75” in diameter, so the club end is pretty compact. I also purchased a 1” cast iron barbell collar. I use this to lock the plates against the floor flange. Total cost for all the parts was less than $60. I can now vary the club weight from ~3.5# (no plates) up 23.5#’s. If I ever need to go heavier, I can replace some of the 1.25# plates with 2.5# plates. But if I get that far, I will likely have already moved on to the ADEX system. 😊
I like the 34mm diameter handle (despite being a smaller guy). Surprising how heavy 10# feels when it is on the end of a 23” club!

I have the Wildman mace and club from Adex. Outstanding gear. It took me a while to get them because they sell out so quickly, but I signed up for text alerts and was able to jump on them when they were restocked. Totally worth the wait! Thank you, Mark for your inspired work in creating this version of these tools.

Poor fella hear. Id love to buy some of these clubs but man things are tight so ive made some clubs out of rebar and concrete. Poured the crete into soda bottles and set the rebar through the top and let it set. Working on making my own modular ones out of big ass bolts and molded concrete cylinders. A three dollar bag of concrete, rebar and spools of copper i found in a junk pile made some bad ass bats and kettle bells. Love the videos. A whole lot of inspiration.

Hello Mark. I am writing in here because this is your last video.
So I was pretty excited about your style of workouts and wanted to try 10x10 - 10 min kettlebell training. Started with 6kg kettlebell and did like 4 sets of 5 reps and then I felt an unpleasant hurt on my elbow then I directly stopped. 1 night passed and right now I just have a slight hurting feeling when I stretch my arm completely. Other than that I feel no weakness, soreness, itchiness. Nothing. Should I rest or should I continue my workouts. And what are your recommendations for people with very weak wrists, elbows... sadly I am one of them and it feels terrible. I use my hands a lot for work and I always feel the weakness of my wrists. and since phones are getting bigger and bigger our hands also get their share just like our necks I think it is a very important issue that you should share your comments on.
    Thanks in advance

    • @MarkWildman
      @MarkWildman  Рік тому +5

I wrote a ton of programs on how to build up toward 10 min.
You should run a swing program up to 24 k and a clean and press program with several weights before jumping into a 10 min set,
10 min sets are the goal.
      Not the starting point

    • @bcampbell3324

@@MarkWildman Of the multitude of things I like about your programs, the slow incremental, methodical slog forward is the most helpful. I've been tempted to push it and bump up a larger weight, but then I remember, the more increments the more opportunities you have to practice, so 1.25lb steps keeps me going forward without injury. I got the Mill/Squat program before the BoS program came out. I'm curious to know how they differ. I'm going to keep my forward momentum with the Mill/Squat until I max out my standard Adex club then look to what is next. At 54 I feel better and am in better shape than I've been in a long time. Thank you.
