      you make it look very easy. I'm new to quilting...Have only done 4 t-shirt quilts..no other quilts. All have been collage/mosaic style as I have been intimidated by all the sashing. Gonna give it a try. I've been binge watching all your videos. Thank you!

    You aren't redundant. Seeing it done several times helps me see what you are doing to get the end result. Too many tutorials show it once and then speed through the steps. You have interesting insights that come from experience and I appreciate that.

    WOW. My mind was blown several times during this video. From the glue basting (WHAT???? Game changer!!) to the way you fold the quilt on your table as you go along to the way you efficiently cut your sashing and cornerstones. This is applicable to not only Tshirt quilts but ALL quilts. Thank you for sharing this awesome information, Lisa! You rock!!

    This is a great video. I made my first t-shirt quilt three years ago for my oldest grandson and watched your video for the first time and now will be starting his brother's graduation quilt. Lisa, brilliant/ your method of applying interfacing on the back of the t shirt and then cut it down so that your not stressing about getting glue everywhere and your blocks are going to be perfect 👌 lining up the corner stones perfectly- sewing your rows perfectly/citing multiple interfacing at the same time-thank up for being so generous in showing how you do things, I sew 🧵 enjoy your teachings xxx

    I love the way it looks. You did a fantastic job and I love the sashing. I like the way they can give definition. I've been trying to get a laptop bag finished for my mother and then get my quilt started. I was working on pouches for the koalas and kangaroos but they now have enough. The good thing is I have plenty of fabric left over to do other things with. It's the plush flannel and so very soft. Thank you Lisa. 💗💗💗

    I loved this video. I’m taking my first T-shirt quilt class this weekend. Now I wish I had seen your video first! You are a great teacher and you don’t blab on and on!!
    Question: what kind of fabric do I use for my pressing cloth? Just cotton?
    Question 2: What size is your table?
    Question 3: what is the gray fabric on your wall? How do you attach the quilt to that gray fabric? How did you attach that gray fabric? Or is it paint?
    Thanks so much! Vicky LS

    • @TheQuiltmakerHomestead
      @TheQuiltmakerHomestead  2 роки тому +2

      Hello Vicky!! For my pressing cloth I use a cotton pillowcase. I separate the front from the back and make two pressing cloths from one pillow case. Cheap and easy!! The size of my table is 48" long and 24" wide. Check out my channel on how I made my design wall :) Easy way to find the video is by going to UA-cam and in the search box type: Lisa Capen design wall. It's foam insulation bought from Lowe's or Home Depot, covered in a grey flannel sheet. Fabric just clings to the flannel, or you can use pins.

    I love your methods and that you explain & clarify so beginners can understand everything you're talking about. I'm making a memoiral quilt of my MIL of my husbands concert, tie dye & sports t-shirts, some date back to the early 80's. I have made pillows cloths curtins and baby play mats but nothing this scale or this important. Hubby was the town Santa who everyone lovingly called Jerry Claus. My MIL & I made his costume and I want to add some of the faux fur but I'm not sure if that is possible with two very different materials. Should I try making a small quilt so I dont mess up his shirts and the Santa fur? Also do you have a supply list for beginners on a tight budget? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
