Im currently looking at 4 models the sportsman 262-277 Cobia 262 and the gamefish 27.. Because of the Varis system Cobia uses in their glass process, I have to give Cobia a huge advantage. I wasnt aware cobia was using the vacuum process which is normally used for the top tier boats like sea vee frontrunner and everglades. Now that the market is switching back to a buyers market with so many leftovers prices are starting to creep towards sane prices.
This Sportsman boat and the Cobia 262 were neck and neck regarding features, fit, finish, and amenities for the price. The Cobia was a bit nicer regarding the fit, finish, bilge area, front opening head area, and felt a little larger up-front. The rear, with the protruding (and annoying) rod rack bar, really limits the space in the back, which is problematic. The Cobia seems like an amazing all-around boat, whereas the Sportsman is a bit more fishing-centric. Both are can't-miss IMO for the price, but I really wanted to see a Sea Hunt Gamefish 277 w/ Coffin Box. Sea Hunt wasn't at the Miami Boat Show this year.

Thanks for posting. My wife and I have not been able see one of these in person yet.
