@@DavidDunlopSimmonsArt Hi David and Connie, for the last 20 years or so, mostly landscapes of the Midwest. Painting landscapes seemed a logical progression but, after a few years of practice, have discovered I may have started too late in life. Just the same, many lessons in one discipline apply to the other, so all is good. Have online photo galleries viewable by an internet search for "tom robbins pbase photo galleries" when you have a moment to spare.

One of the most wonderful analysis of Turner’s methodology I’ve heard. I did hear or read somewhere that Turner used Alizarin Crimson and that it was fading in color even as he was working on the painting. In the video you mentioned that the color was not invented until later. Can you comment on this apparent contradiction?

    • @DavidDunlopSimmonsArt

God I love you teaching. Is there any chance you could delve into turners and monets use of colour - pushing colour beyond that which is strictly representational?
And maybe turners messy atmospheric brush marks and why they work (such as in the burning of the Houses of Parliament)?

    • @DavidDunlopSimmonsArt
