My understanding is that the taxes themselves were not the main issue, it was the taxes without having a say. So they were fine with taxes, they wanted to have a say in how it’s collected and how much it is.
@@spiderraccoon7869wasn't the only reason but yeah basically. It goes a bit more deeper than that too. You know up until the revolutionary war we were basically allowed to do what we wanted to then the war before the revolutionary war the British had to collect taxes and some of the colonials fault under the British and they had to pay the British taxes for fighting for them. So it's a few things taxes without representation and then we were pretty distance from Britain for a Good while so the relationship wasn't as close and then it really wasn't just so much of the king it was Parliament that we really had an issue with but you know to cut ties with Parliament you got to cut ties with the crown I would imagine so. It's a bunch of shit. People will figure that out as they go and learn about it.
@@spiderraccoon7869 if the government would've just let the colonists be an not try to push their will would've probably never the revolution. But I'm glad we did have one. But as a Southerner it sucks we couldn't gain our independence from union. Now we gotta deal with tryants.
Best part? Every gallon of gas you purchase, you pay a tax to whatever State you are in. People get all up in arms about a tax on text messages and wifi. Yet they are perfectly happy paying a tax on gasoline. Something almost everyone needs.
Revolutionary war clothing does look good. Wish I still had my re-enacting clothing. Only problem is that most of that clothing is WOOL. It gets hot and itchy pretty quickly. I do still have my hat, socks and sash with long knife, but no; undershirt, overshirt, waistcoat, overcoat, breeches, garters and shoes.
Can make an easy simple Ruana cloak in like 10 min. Can wear it Game of Thrones, Star Wars or Lord of The Rings Style. Any woven cloth will work with classic Penannular Brooch.
