👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 The image that Charlie sent you is from Rory Lewis, a fantastic portrait photographer from London. Rory doesn’t use any snoot ou any other light, he does everything in post. Thanks for sharing the really useful technique Glyn. And yes for the video👍
I had forgotten about this quick and effective technique,,,using it again to get the job done quicker. Thanx, Glyn! BTW, your UA-cam content is 'rocking'' it!
Thank you so much for the help. I know I've done this in the past but I couldn't remember. This was a million times easier and quicker than what I remember.
Have been using this technique successfully. However I discovered a similar technique in LR. Create a radial filter and subtract the subject and then increase exposure
Great question. Unfortunately don't really think it would work in full as an Action due to using Select and Mask; if it was just Select Subject then yeah definitely. Then there's the elliptical marquee tool which is a manual thing and couldn't be done as an action. Might take a look at a workaround though 👍🏻
Very Nice. I used to do it by drawing a white elipse, and depending on the image, change the blending mode to overlay/softlight or screen and adjust the opacity. Your technique is faster, no doubt. Cheers
One thing I enjoy about your videos is that do do artistic, beautiful male portraits. Don't get me wrong, I love female portraits, but it is rare to see the type of looks you get with your male portraits. I love the elderly men especially, it really speaks to me.
This is a little gem mate, and so well presented as usual. And yes, absolutely, an update of the 'Editor' would be awesome! Thanks for sharing buddy, keep up the good work 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Thanks so much mate…really appreciate that. Will definitely get to work on the update of the Editor but also a new photo shoot for it so need to speak 😉
VERY kind Jason...thanks so much. Will definitely record an updated version. As for the Printing Course I'm recording everything that needs to be done so it's finished, this week and next ... and then finally will be able to release it 👍🏻
Fabulous tutorial Glynn i love doing portrait images and this is certainly going to make my images stand out thanks' look forward to seeing the new updated video
Loving the tutorials Glyn, looking forward to you speaking at LPC. Your question about re-doing the "best pic" video, why not re-shoot the pic to update it and then create the new video?
Thanks so much! Yeah a few years ago I had a full length tutorial on this. There's been a lot of updates since so I pulled it and will be recordiong (in fact shooting) a completely new one in the very near future 👍🏻
Hi Glyn This is a great tutorial. I really liked the part where you change the color of the background. I’ve done many head shots at the school where I work where the background I was using was a savage thunder gray. This really gives me some ideas on how I can change the color of the background and add spotlights. Thanks again for your great tutorials. Pat Hogarty from El Dorado Hills California

Great question. Unfortunately don't really think it would work in full as an Action due to using Select and Mask; if it was just Select Subject then yeah definitely. One thing I enjoy about your videos is that do do artistic, beautiful male portraits. Don't get me wrong, I love female portraits, but it is rare to see the type of looks you get with your male portraits. I love the elderly men especially, it really speaks to me.
