The stuff in our saliva is actually an anaesthetic called Opiorphin. Which is a couple times stronger than morphine. Though we only produce it in tiny amounts otherwise we'd be high all the time XD
I did happen to know that as well, I just thought there was something antibacterial too... and of course forgot to fact check until I was already recording lol
@TallyMarkASMR Human saliva also has acidic properties (obviously) but also some bacteria that help us break down food... which means we basically can spit venom iirc. There's a "Humans are space orcs" episode on it. Also, while a moist environment is helpful when it comes to healing, as it reduces the possibility of scarring, moisture can also perform osmosis and get into cells, causing them to expand and eventually burst. Of course, that happens a lot easier with unfiltered water that hasn't gone through our bodies, but... I wish I knew the specifics of how much some of these things actually affected wounds lol. The anaesthetic and antibacterial properties make sense now that I think about them, but I wish I knew the numbers better ngl. Never been interested in becoming a doctor but knowing these types of things interests me...
That's part of the fun! But also she's a veterinarian and bound by duty to take care of injured animals. Whether she knows they're a proper animal or not 😀
Very well done as always. I wonder if the vet will figure out what we are at some point. No spoilers, just theory crafting. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and look forward to what the next year brings!
Merry Christmas Eve, and thanks for the video :D i spose our vet here would do well in a zombie apocalypse considering she's use to patients trying to bite her

Wow this was good sorry I couldn’t send a comment on my laptop It froze up so it took awhile to fix
No worries! There’s no time limit or expectation on when you get the chance to say something. Comments are an added bonus, not a requirement 😁
