Oh, younger brothers!!! I spent 16 years there as a Senior Patroller before Vail bought the place & booted the National Ski Patrol out. Sunrise was my favorite part of the whole mountain!! Joe Broadhurst was pro patrol leader and our mountain manager was Dick Reuter-the Root! What a blast to watch you guys make a run down Sunrise! Thanks so much for taking me along!!!
As far as I know the Fubar has operated most every year since installed (2008-2009?). I think it went in same year as the the 2 pomas (since removed) servicing? the Wave. Vista used to be a nice in country hike. Kinda like 99 steps, but shorter. Only 299 steps. ;).
Vista needs a lot of snow to work and gets scoured by wind. Difficult to groom as well. So it’s a twitchy B…. to keep it running. Used to be a hikers run only. Probably should have stayed that way. Old groomer. Just saying.

Nice! I'm sure that it was amazing working as a patroller there! Glad you enjoyed it!
So good to you your Whoot Whoot once again Dan. You lucked out. Pristine!!!!😊
Yes we did, thanks Janet!
So jealous! I'll be out there on the 7th. Was hoping to get to ski with you there one day this season, but we're moving to ID on the 31st.
ahh dang. Send me an email at tahoemountainlife@gmail.com. There is a small chance I would be there on the 7th. Good luck with your move to ID.
November powder has been extreme, deep, and Awesome!!!
100%
Damn, I have taken the TBar many times in the past before Vail took over. Some of my favorite lines off of the TBar on Vista Mtn.
Hmm interesting. Maybe thats the biggest change having vail taking over.
I took the tbar last year. They opened it when the snow was good.
I took it a couple years ago.
hmm interesting. I just must always be there on the wrong days. I'm really surprised that I never saw it open during 22-23' when the snow was so good.
Nice to see lots of ❄️ there. I was at Mammoth Mon-Wed and they got dumped on.
ahh nice! Yea unfortunately South Tahoe just missed out on these past storms.
It runs when they have the staff, etc. I hiked it most of last season... but it is a viable lift.
Thats what I thought. I just haven't seen it running in the last 3 winters.
Looks like no more storms through the 17th on the GFS. A blocking High. Hope it changes
yes, lets hope!
