People are too quick to judge. 22/23 was his first bad season in years, but people seem to forget how good he was in the 21/22 season. I didn’t see half as much hate when messi scored 6 goals in an entire season and wasn’t even nominated for the 2022 ballond’or, whereas 37 year old Ronaldo was.
The last time CR7 had a worse calendar year than 2022 in terms of goal contributions was ... in 2004 ...
In 2023, he already has the same number of goal contributions as 2022, with LITERALLY half as many games played ...

Still, and checking via messivsronaldo, the last time CR7 had as bad a season as 22/23, was in 05/06: 28 goal contributions in 22/23 to 25 goal contributions in 05/06, EIGHTEEN SEASONS ago.
Despite the 2022 portion of the season being much poorer than the 2021 portion, he STILL managed to cross the 30 goal mark that season, @ 36 / 37 years old: SEVERELY underrated, IMO.

Yep, when he first passed in United, he literally only needed a ball. Now ofc u need a team, the explosivness and the stamina and agility he once had are gone, but that's a product of aging, happens to everyone.

Another reason Cristiano Ronaldo is the goat (in my opinion) he has maintained an elite form for 20+ years.
Sure he has had droughts but that’s normal for any player. However keep in mind, he is still averaging a goal a game at the age of 38 after previously carrying Manchester United for a season finishing as their top scorer and the league’s second top scorer with multiple man of the match awards and player of the month at 37 in the premier league.
Unless u can name another football legend who has done this before Ronaldo u have to admit it’s very impressive and sets him apart as a one of one.

He is amazing for his age. But being a ST just isn't for him. He ofc still gets goals but he has the intelligence to be the playmaker which is required for both Al-Nassr and Portugal. Staying as a ST, he is offside majority of the time and isn't able to get the ball through. He definitely isn't as fast as he was before hence defenders also catch up to him. It's time he channeled the young ManU Ronaldo as a CAM or CF. He will do wonders in then, but ig nobody is, even the coaches have been able to change that cz he is adamant to be a ST. Hope he realises or someone brings that change.

I have a special request. Could you PLEASE - I'm begging you @Legasus7 - do a LENGTHY video on ALL the chances created by Ronaldo, potential assists and pre-assists that were squandered by teammates who choked in front of net.
There are countless examples of Ronaldo, for instance, in the Confederations Cup Final making a gorgeous, perfectly weighted pass (one that the media would be slurping Messi over for years if he had made the same pass Ronaldo made) only for his teammate to miss point blank in front of goal. Benzema and Higuain also have many similar choke jobs in front of net from Ronaldo passes. (Ironically Bale was VERY efficient in terms of converting chances created by CR7).
Such a video would reinforce the fact that Ronaldo actually has better vision than Messi, but it's not reflected in the ASSISTS because his teammates flounder in front of net.
