You got a lighter, more accessible IU in the last two songs. I've seen other reactors tap out on You&I. IU was on Sketchbook recently, and that's a must-see if you want to see her sing live. A lot of women with her beauty would rest on acting and CFs, but she is a real musician. Being a musician is a lot of hard work, and it isn't pretty. That's the most impressive thing about her, to me. She is perfectly comfortable with not looking pretty, and that make her even more beautiful.

So You and I begins with introducing you to IU and the portraits of her grandfather, who was an inventor. He had built an Android (Lee Hyunwoo) to keep her company in the event he passes away. Hyunwoo was supposed to activate in the future, but he passed before he could tell IU exactly when. After feeling lonely waiting, IU decides to build a time machine to go to a future where Hyunwoo would be awake. She succeeds and marks the time for them to meet on his wrist (Symbollically as a watch) However, she leaves right as Hyunwoo activates. The date on the time machine indicates she travels to 2019 Dec 31. In 2019 November (Can’t remember the exact date) IU released Across The Times 7 years after releasing You and I. The MV tells the tale of IU and Hyunwoo interacting “Across time” even though they’re in different dimensions and time flows differently, until they meet in person in the end of You and I.

He’s basically cheering up IU and saying it’s okay to be herself and that even through the bad times that the mid-20s gives you, you’ll still get through it and shine. There are many different theories about the timeline/dimensions that two characters were in. Some say that the ending of “You&I” is the future IU and Hyunwoo reuniting and of course that MV introduces the beginning of their love story/journey. “Above The Time” is the timeline in between before future IU and Hyunwoo meet at the shop. In the MV, they always meet each other at a certain time. It might be in their dreams or because they are connected subconsciously.
