I' living in about 2 km airdistance from the oldest German hillclimb track. The last race on this unique natural track with its 36 curves was in 2009. After that, mainly at the instigation of a small group of activists who had moved into the region, local authorities raised the permit hurdles for the hillclimb race so high that it wasn't any longer financially viable. It's a big shame to let die this race.
