- Reddit and OpenAI Sign Deal to Train ChatGPT | Vantage with Palki Sharma
OpenAI has announced a deal with social media platform Reddit to use its data for training AI models. The announcement follows a similar deal between Reddit and Google, valued at $60 million. Training data has become a flashpoint between creators and AI developers since ChatGPT burst onto the scene in late 2022. While some organisations like the Financial Times and the Associated Press have struck deals to license their content for OpenAI, others like the New York Times have sued the company for illegal use. Various reports suggest that AI models were trained on unreliable data sources, including Wikipedia and personal blogs. What can be done to make AI bots more reliable and transparent? Palki Sharma tells you.

Same as media trained to lie 😂😂
Media won't lie they just manipulate. But I am more concerned about western dominated AI will downgrade our genuine opinions.
Let's say a linguistic from rural part of india has contributed to our indian culture and society will not be celebrated. Just because an google AI gives a same opinions and perspectives some websites controlled by west. Then this is more clear about shutting up a linguistic.
Jokes
The ending sentence is so true. "The world needs accuracy more than speed."
Perplexity is doing this, they clearly mentions all the sources with accessable links.
Great research tool, highly recommended 👍🏻
Yeah ... I have been using it for 6 months. It is good but can't perform calculation related things
Reddit out of all things training ChatGPT??? What's next 4chan going to teach it how not to dox someone LOL?
Reddit Grandmaster Trainer in Gaslighting and Feminist agendas. Whelp. RIP ChatGPT
Correct . IT LIES !
Training AI is Like Training Kids
Palki Perfectly Pitched (PPP): It's about accuracy, not speed! Teaching AI models is similar to instilling good values in children and helping them practice these values. As children grow, they will stand by their principles. Many people have good intentions, but the implementation often falls short. If the core values in training AI become corrupt, what kind of future are we envisioning? Both training kids and training models should be based on solid principles that promote harmless growth. In the name of machines, we might be introducing corruption boldly again! Slowly, people might start trusting AI more than humans, and we can't foresee the repercussions this will bring.
Spot on Palki "world needs accuracy more than speed”
W-what who's teaching AI to lie??! Next, they'll be taught how to cheat and steal! Lol
PSU is setting a new benchmark of unbiased fact-based global journalism.. kudos to her and the team @ FirstPost..
Reddit is full of left-leaning content, too much biases
No shT, but haven't you noticed some+ve changes in the past 2 years ?
Do you use reddit?
Ask OpenAI itself its sources of information. May be how!
Good one
wow, i bought 500 shares of RDDT at $49 a few weeks ago. Keep hyping the stock Palki!!
Fantastic!
Perplexity and gemini both mention the sources.. since perplexity is on openai api indirectly u get sources of openai api.
Well put
Rightly Said...
so important
reddit, aka the most pro censorship social media? chatgpt was already quite bad, now is gone
It’s like asking News channel to disclose their news source 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Palki STOP them sweetie!!!
They are extremely powerful
As far as i know, Google shows sources from where it fetched data. Any comments on this?
Do you know where you get your thoughts from ? Same as AI.
So people made Wikipedia by donating money and writing free articles and now they stole it... I donate every year money to Wikipedia.
Just like you guys
3:18 news outlets and their news article or piece can also be biased! So news outlets also can't be classified as facts or factual source.
Ai is nice but training with ethics is too nice
A.I and Indian elections.
Vintage news
Fantastic, hijacking the system
Halucination remains a major problem atleast for ChatGPT users...
I recommend using the 2024 version!😮😢❤😭
'It hallucinates.' Yep, another term for lying. It's probably intentional.
Same like the whole nonsense Internet 😂😂😂
Let them train we shall All benefit. It's like denying a child education.
Then share me your family member, address
There is something called consent, reddit users should take that before sharing any data with chatgpt
There those who will follow the rules and those who won't. Its difficult the world is huge we will never know.
the reason why google gemini doesn't hold a bear in front of chatgpt.. because I believe gemini is trainned on lot of uncessary inacurate n crapy data ..which inreturn reduces its understanding and accuracy.! .. the model is same , infact google has more parameters , huge data..! almost same training , google has skilled enginners also.. so what left is only trainning with pure-human reviewed - clean -safe-accurate data. like wikipidea...its very structured. but facebook , comments n quora posts.. they are full of contradictions . no english grammers very looses language..it'll just reduces model accuracy if not cleaned properly. so google doesn't exactly has any advantage at all in terms of text data.. other than searches.! Mostly google personal data is Gmaps n blogger they own., youtube. but for text you have to rely on wiki n latest books. n newspaper for news.! chatgpt was small company they can play with legal rights..n copyright.. google could not take risk using copyrighted data from news n other websites without premission.
Who will bell the CAT ?
They are trained as their true copy cat
a bit hypocrisy ! would we ask were the data came from if this product were from x,y and z country ?
For personal data , there is GDPR ! If your concern is it could have wrong data , the public is watching !
Because of developer is not Indian
Now this is a big deal😂😂😂
After scaring people about AI and taking jobs, now the media come after source of training. Media better stay out of commenting on AI based on hearsay. You don’t have any knowledge about this technology then why comment as if you are an expert. Do you all have a degree in AI to even comment? Do you even know anything about AI?
Can someone help me learn AI? Please teach me I really want to learn
Download the Copilot Al program & ask questions from "it". Then you'll realize what Al is.
Lies and more lies
If AI will not speak lie than how indian media will run by AI 😂😂😂😂😂
Why is Firstpost so mad at AI?
Because it's really a genuine concern to be discussed, I think in future it will be our change our economy or might be get stuck in government and judicial rules and regulations(I actually want this 😅), I don't want it to achieve AGI(Artificial General Intelligence).
@@TheLearner048 it eventually will. It's part of the next step of AI.
Because an Indian is the CEO of Google, they get crazy. All of them dream for their kids or themselves migrate away from India to US. Indian Visa Temple are all days full of visitors.
Because optimism doesn't get views, anger gets views, yelling gets views.
