Or what I do with my crutches : take of rubber(tip/shoe), put 2 rubber bands the way so they cross the hole and intersect in the middle, then push stick as usual - trust me, it works 👍🏻

I don't think letting your grandkids do your marketing videos is a good idea.. I got an oak heartwood cane five years ago it split a year ago. I just glued it and seems to work good still.

To prevent the rubber caps from flying off, try a smaller cap or wrap electical tape on the cane's surface to prevent it from flying.
