I just gave up being an Architect after 18 years, makes me feel sad. It was so badly paid and so utterly disrespected it was killing me from the inside out ! I hope all you young Architects and students maek the right choices and it makes you feel happy.
You should stay current with your architectural association so you can at least work on your own projects for yourself in the future if you want to! Being able to sign off on work outside of the simplified codes for small buildings is very useful.
@@2brazy4ubitch yep, actually in UK it works a little different. Architects don't actually have the authority to sign off anything. In fact you don't even need to employ a Registeted Architect to design a house if you don't want to. The profession here sucks.
Such a wonderful, intelligent, professional and compassionate woman... an amazing approach to architecture and life... an inspiring call for people how to start thinking for the future... life lesson, thankyou
QUÉ GRAN Y BELLO CONCEPTO DE LA ARQUITECTURA . EN LA ACTUALIDAD , SÓLO SE CONSTRUYEN CAJAS CON HUECOS , SIN PENSAR EN QUE ESAS CONSTRUCCIONES ALBERGARÁN LO MÁS SAGRADO . ES DECIR , LA VIDA HUMANA . DORTE , CON ESA SENSIBILIDAD , ES UNA ESPERANZA . Y GRANDE .
I’m sure that the Icefjord house is stunning to behold and be in and out of, but from the point of view of 2D viewing I would not call this a success. Either it’s not daring or assertive enough, or its simply not in harmony with its site/surroundings and mission. It doesn’t move (me). But I really do wish that it did.

I'm still early on in my career and having similar thoughts, not sure I could hold out for an entire career.
What did you go on to do afterwards?
