I have one just like that but is manual , I am lookiing for a way to install a motor or something , You just gave me a good idea , all I need is some kind of table with a midle base or simething to install the motor
How do you clean that? I have the same one, modified the rollers by adding some acrylic plates on the side where the rod is attached since it tends to rust over time inside there. Also, used some food-grade silicone to seal it. And I removed the round plate on the third top roller and did the same.
Hi Guys, Happy to see you are getting into Cane. When you are ready to upgrade to a FoodGrade press let me know. I can give you a good deal. As you have seen already, the press in your video is rusted on the roller shafts already. You deserve better!
Thanks David! We acquired a late 1880’s horse powered one I’m restoring and plan on using. We ended up not doing anything with the patch this year I just cut it all down last weekend ☹️
@@romelcholinas668 many models but not so cheap. You cannot make the same price machine as the mass market recycled steel machine out of stainless steel at the same price.
Wanna bet that if you had an aide you could run this on a modified pedal bicycle? You look fit enough, and the aide just has to pick up stalks and feed them in (which you could also do with a hopper, or with clever positioning you could even just do it yourself). If you have oilseed crops like olives or such, see about getting a 2kW Diesel motor and rigging it up.
It is the cheapest but the problem is on both sides of the rollers it rusts and that rust gets in the juice. The frame is also made out of recycled iron. Cheap ? Yes! Healthy and safe? No. Uploader please show a video of how the inside looks now. Do the needful please. Thank you
David, ive had same machine since Jan.2020,zero rust on the rollers,i use a spray bottle with plain water to wash it off properly after juicing, its the same manual machine that some places sell with a motor already attached to it and they put metal sheets around it,encasing it, with their pretty stickers on the outside and the on/off switch, you dont have to put another machine down,to sell yours, there's room for everyone, some people spend what they can afford to spend 🤷🏻♂️ if the sugar cane is thick, split it,one pass thru,it gets all the juice out,can always fold the sugarcane and pass it thru again, for a little extra juice
The rollers look brand new and it’s been stored outside in Florida. The juice doesn’t touch the frame it goes straight into the stainless steel drip pan and down the hose. I looked at yours, but for a hobby farm that doesn’t juice much cane it doesn’t make sense to pay that kind of money for something we rarely use.
It might if I loosened the roller adjustment and ran it through and folded it several times. I’ve got it tightened down pretty good. It slows down and the belt starts slipping if the cane is too thick.
Sugarcane juice is so underrated. Its understandable though, sugarcane has a really short shelf life. It starts fermenting pretty quickly after it’s cut. Also! Run the cane 2 or three times through the machine and fold it while doing so. You gotta get out all of the juices!
That’s it does. Has me thinking about getting some sort of copper device to do something with it. When we are going for maximum production we will run it twice, we figured we get about 15% more juice on the second run.
Nice video. I have to plant more sugar cane to have enough to make the purchase worth it. I am also in Central Florida in the Sanford Area. Would love to have a piece of land like that with chickens and other animals. Are you on the north or south of Orlando? I have another video where they used an electric motor and is less noisy.
@@DeHavenRanch I was checking around on UA-cam and sugar cane juice doesn't have much of a shelf life. I see people freezing it. It's best to drink fresh.... But I saw you juiced a lot. Did you freeze some of it or was it consumed within a day or two. How long can the juice last in the refrigerator if I juice a gallon?
@@idanny76 if you are using the juice this machine will last forever. You can cook it down for syrup or add it to smoothies or ferment it if you are into the kind of thing.
I don’t. We just kind of put the stand together and had an edger that we didn’t use much and took the engine off of it and grabbed a new belt and welded it together
@@DeHavenRanch I see they at least add a v slot pulley for a belt! Looks pretty easy. I have a honda sitting in my shop, I have been wondering what to do with it. Great video brother man
.. 1kW, maybe? DeHaven says the motor he's using is a 3 horse, a German horsepower is around 748 watts so 3x0.748 would give you the kilowatt size you'd need, but you wouldn't be able to run such a motor on 120V, and apparently it's not necessary.
Thanks for making this video. It was very helpful and answered a lot of questions I had !!!
Happy to share!
Hi thanks for the video and the idea of using a motor is a great idea. Just wondering how do you wash it after use?
You can take the cover off and hit it with soapy water and a brush.

We used it manually for 3 stalks before making that stand and adding the motor.
@@DeHavenRanch just bought a stand from harbor freight tools, will weld wheels to the legs to make it easier to move and go from there
Hello good video, where can I get one to buy please.
How to set it up if I get the motor and parts.

I spray it out with the hose and store it loosely covered outside and it’s been fine.
@@DeHavenRanch Had you tried inspecting the sides of the rollers whether it gets rusted too?
Any idea what size electric motor would work?

Will the machine not take one whole stalk instead of cutting up in small pieces? I’m considering buying one for sorghum cane

How much in total it would cost to get one of the cane machine to me in Jamaica place let me know as soon as possible
And get dirt and grass in the cane nice dirty taste.lol
That was pretty cool, how has the press held up after all this time?
Still great! Engine is harder to fire up, probably needs a tune up but nothing to do with the press.

Amazon. There is a link in the description.
Do you have a video on the stand you made?
I do not. My buddy and I went to the shop with the juicer and welded it together.
How many rpm is that motor?
Not sure, we run it just over idle. It was a edger motor
...are you sure you're not just running on the choke¿
It’s been a while but I believe the choke was off.

Sure did! It clogs the centrifugal force kind and our extruder kind it clogged and blocked the dump side and snapped it.
