I agree with Lani I think spiritual motivations vary depending on the need . AndI agree with Alex it should always be about glorifying Christ and that would make the motivation consistent
Thank you both for this episode . It was very convicting and much needed for me to reflect on my motives. I tend to struggle with pride or the approval of man and that has seeped into my spiritual walk with Christ. At the root of it, my motivation should be to just know Jesus deeper and stay near to him. Yeah a lot of times I do the “right thing” because the camera are on and everybody is looking it’s easy to do the right thing when everyone is looking but what defines you is doing the right thing when there is nobody there but you and God. I got to make sure when I pray and fast I am having pure intentions and good motivations and making sure when I fast I am seeking the Will of God and not my own fleshy desires.
Amen❤️🙏🏾. I have ecxams coming up and im stressed mainly due to how i was procrastinating and really regret it. Can you pray for me that I do well for God's glory.

It’s a great question indeed guys what a word! I think the motivation I have (which also varies day to day) is truly bringing glory to God, and having a real relationship with Him. Jesus became human for us so we can see and be able to not just imitate His way of living on earth, but being an example. I don’t do things for the satisfaction of man because it’s empty, but doing things for God(Col 3:23), is my daily push. Life in Gods eyes is being a light and showing man how good He is, throughout good and bad. Fasting is the best and hardest as well to do consistently, but is so worth it in the end! Love you guys

when i saw todays amen podcast is going about motivation i stater crying ... And im just not really in the best place in my life right now so many other things in my life i cant talk about etc... what a beutiful lesson ... DO i have the right motivation ?
"be still, and know that I am God" Psalm 46:10- This means that we can be still in times of distress. (Mathew 8:23-27) Jesus was sleeping through a storm because he had faith in God that he will take him out of the storm. he goes on to say to his disciples "you of little faith, why did you doubt". We know that in times of distress we can be still and totally know that we are not God and we have nothing to do with our future or choices. in the book of Luke 12:22-31, he says something along the lines of how worrying about the next day won't add another hour to our life, so why worry! In times of distress can be times to actually get closer to God and hold on to his faith. ✌
Ive been feeling quite disconnected from God lately, mainly because I am going trough a lot of change in my life. But every time I decide to tune in and listen to your podcast, listening to you preach, I feel like I am closer to God. Thank you both for preaching the word in such a beautiful way. Thank you for filling my spirit with the Lord, whom Ive been desperately needing.

Notes: The difference between sympathy and empathy is very important. Sympathy is feeling bad for someone, empathy is completely understanding someones pain. Sympathy is short lived and empty, but empathy lasts forever and breaks the chains of loneliness. God is the one that truly understands what you’re going through. God is the one who knows your weakness, that know you are flesh and is compassionate. Compassionate means suffer with. God does that. The world doesn’t do that, the world can only offer you sympathy. So who recognition are you going to seek?

I always wondered how 40 day fasts work. Like partial? Full fast in the food sense? I legit have wondered
To be honest I wanted salvation but then I was if I was truly saved I needed other things and he would be able to give me those things so ofc I have now wanted him and to grow in his ways not but sometimes it feels like I don't want that and want the world and to go back to the old thing but I say no
Its crazy to know people would be out here practicing & learning Spirituality for the likeliness from someone. Kinda Funny
