I retired in 2019 after 41 years of commercial driving. Tractors and motor coaches. It was a great career and enjoyed everyday driving. Enjoyed the snow a little less. But ill wise is correct, it's a million dollar license. You'll always find work and just sit back and enjoy. Luck always.
Thank you two for the video, really really appreciate it because I start Schider on the 27th and one concerns was the stimulator test. But thank you new subscriber here stay safe.
Congrats! you're welcome queen! The simulator is really for practice. They did three different tests on driving the truck in weather conditions, Tire blowouts and knowing when to use your signals. It'll definitely make you more aware of how it'll be when you driving on the road. Best of luck to you queen! Safe travels on the road ! Don't hesitate to ask us if you have any questions. Hey,,,,welcome to the Pumpkin Patch,,, have been here for a while an 1 thing also with Schneider is from OC to OC consistency is prevalent,,you're not going to go in 1 9C an be instructed 1 way an then go to another OC an be told something different,,,also pay close attention in the stimulators,,,they are very close to real world events,,," case in point",, I have done the stimulator a few times and 1 of the programs was a blown steer tire,,,a few years later guess what,,I blew a steer tire,,,the training helped immensely,,,to the point of a bad day or a devastating day,,, Good luck with all your work and look forward to seeing you out on the road
Good video guy’s but will Schneider show you how to 45 your truck when it comes to backing.?? More importantly, will they kick you out if you can’t back.. some company will kick you out if you can’t learn it within two weeks.
Hello , Im an inexperienced rookie driver . Just got my class A . Did you feel that 1 week driving with a training engineer was enough to prepare you for the road ? Thanks
Hello!! Congratulations🤑 Trucking is everything! I love it here. So for me it was, I learn better through experience. I didn’t want to be in the truck a long time with a trainer. I believe you’ll be great with a week if you keep the confidence and ask every question that comes to mind, whatever you need more work on or less confident in doing, let your trainer know so you can focus more on those area.
Lol……. Man in the beginning when you’re talking your knuckles are hitting the desk and I thought somebody was knocking on my truck I kept pausing the video and looking around
Went to the orientation in PA. Went through with no issues until the end. I did my final evaluation in the 2nd week on a Thursday and told I passed. A day later the lead instructor took me on a random evaluation. When we got to the end I backed the truck up and he said I needed more backing. Mind you I've been backing fuel trucks for 6 years in the military and use to back my father's truck way before I got my cdl. Never had an issue backing in my life. I can back with barely 1 pull up while other people took like 20 minutes. The next day I had to back all day. Every time the lead instructor found some bs reason to why it wasn't right. They ended up dropping me because of him. It was something definitely funny going on because for the last two weeks every instructor told me, me and another guy were the best in our class. I think something happened with getting me a mentor.
Hey! Wow I'm sorry to hear you had to go through that - I'd be upset myself. Not all OCs are the same. My Husband had a great experience with his mentor. The mentor I had gave me a little trouble towards the end of my week as well. I wasnt the best at backing. I informed him that so he made sure he tested me on backing different ways. I was very annoyed during that experience. But I told myself to keep pushing and get through training because once your done with training everything will be a breeze. I hope the rest of your journey gets greater! If you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out to us. We share information that we know or learned from experience!
I’m just like y’all from Vegas, came here to Phoenix.. it’s interesting. Lol we got put in a hotel the instructors and my Uber AND coworkers are like don’t go outside at night lol I got chewed out for having a piece of paper in my hand getting out of the truck (3 points of contact) that he asked for! Lol but it’s just day 1 hopefully it gets better I love you guys! ❤ I hope all is well!
Yay!! Congrats queen. Schneider is a great company to start will as a New Driver. Make sure you let them know whatever you don't feel too confident with when driving and they will work with you😊 Best of luck queen! Safe travels on the road. If ever have any questions don't hesitate to ask us anything. We family 🚚❣
Okay!!!! OMG!!!!! 🥰 THEE CUTEST COUPLE EVER! ♥️♥️ C’mon!!! Everybody’s beautiful including your personalities!!! Okay, I’m done!!! It’s just good to see 👏🏿👏🏽👏🏾. Well, so so glad I came across your channel ….I recently passed my CDL permit test…….praise the Lord for that 🙏🏿 and I am looking to join Schneider this summer! Your videos are so informative AND encouraging! Just the push I need to stay hopeful and keep going! …..just two questions on my way out: 1) I’m not crazy about the idea of carrying hazardous materials, but do you recommend I get that hazmat endorsement? 2) Does Schneider allow the drivers to “decorate” or personalize the inside of the truck as I will be an OTR driver going for weeks at a time - I would like for it to feel like “home”. Thank You! ☺️
oh yeah, they pay out the ass. If you leave early or too soon from Schneider, tie your shit up. They will own you and your first born. You learn the hard way, small companies are the happy happy way. Use Schneider to learn yes, then go small, you will be much happier, believe me when I tell you this. Its just that way man...But, dont listen to me, im just a 2 million mile man who has always been a company driver, 20 years and loving it. Something about people constantly breathing down your neck man.
Schneider offer trucking school. You can start with them with a permit but you would have to do schooling first. So you can obtain your CDL. Once you finish schooling through them you'll be on a contract to pay them back. We didn't go to school through Schneider. We went to trucking school before we started Schneider because we didn't want to be on a contract.
@@mulamob4963 yes if your going to cdl school they do urine test. If you getting hired with Schneider they do urine and hair follicle. The follicle test goes back 3 months
What school did you go to before Schneider, me and my fiancé are trying to find a school we can go to so we don’t have to be on a contract or pay a lot of money. Do you know any schools where we can get our license?
Okay I have to admit watching this video I laughed. Made the biggest mistake possible. You allowed a company to make you a slave. That is exactly what Schneider and other mega carriers do to new drivers. Yep we will pay for this, pay for that. Oh and btw if you quit before a year or two is up. You owe us $X for all that "free" training. The only positive thing about Schneider is the extra training they will provide to rookies who already have their CDL, like skid school. That is it. As a driver you are just a number to them. And as rookies they WILL get you doing all the BS work that runs down your daily HoS like playing find a trailer. It could be in this yard or a yard across town. But go find it. So for the next 4 hours you maybe drive 30-40 miles, but used up 4 hours of your daily clock. The other fun game Schneider likes to play. Done your 14 days out...well sorry we don't have a load for you headed to your home yard. So your two days off are now going to be in the Gary, IN yard. Want to complain or quit, remember that contract you signed for "free" training it is now going to be held over your head by dispatch.
Thanks for sharing your experience

Yeah, I live in Atlanta and was lucky to be at the Atlanta terminal. So glad I didn't have to wait for the shuttle to get home.
Where’s everywhere you drove when you went otr with the trainer on the third week?
