Synopsis: The brave hero Gramme defeated the evil Demon Lord Veltol Velvet Velsvalt in combat in the enchanted fantasy realm of Alneath. 500 years later, Machina Soleige, his subordinate, resurrects Veltol by magic. But while he was gone, in 2023, Alneath united with the industrialised globe of Earth, causing a calamity known as the "Fantasion". This led to racial intolerance, the dissolution of national borders, and conflicts amongst recently formed city governments. When comparatively calm returned after the wars, Alneath's magic and Earth's industry merged to create magical engineering that became known as "magineering". In the year 2099, in the city state of Shinjuku (previously Tokyo), Veltol is brought back to life. He teams up with Machina and her hacker companion Takahashi to try and reclaim his power and rule the world once more.
