For those wondering this WILL work with the RTF DXS transmitter, just did this with mine while I wait for my dx6 to arrive and it flys sooo much smoother and I feel it way more responsive, it got rid of that nasty factory wobble/vibration on take off can’t believe they let them out of the factory like this. Once again thank you JJ! Btw mine was done on the 230s smart . Happy flying ! 🤘🏻
Hello , I also have this Heli . For some reason the Swash Plate will not raise when I throttle up to collective pitch. everything else works fine . Throttle , Rudder , Elevator and Aileron . The Swash Plate will raise if I push the Panic /Bind button . I am using the DXs transmitter that came with it . Thanks . love your video's
I’m doing this to level it out then soon as I come out of servo adjustment mode the swash goes back to how it was before which is really tilted. I adjusted linkages but then it had loads of movement to the left but nothing when moving the stick to the right
Hello, Adam: This sounds like the same issue I am having with my Blade 230s v2. I had to swap all 3 Servos to the SPMSH 3055 from the original SPMSH 3050.Servos because HH discontinued the SPMSH 3050 Servos. Anyway if you watch JJ's video closely, when he comes out of Servo Adjustment Mode his swashplate is no longer level and his elevator Servo also raises up as well. My question then is . . . , is this behavior normal? With the swash being so far off from being level how can this work. I even powered off the 230s and reinitialized the heli and the swash is still being tilted upward. I even tried creating a new model on the radio and used the DX6 settings from the 230s manual only to see the same behavior. When I am in Servo Adjustment Mode all 3 Servo Arms are at 90 degrees and perpendicular to the main shaft. I have been trying to work with HH but still have not come up with a solution.
Can I assume you have already checked for 0 pitch at mid stick? I also heard / read that the 230s will have some small amount of drift in flight but should be nominal.
@@josephrogina3865 same problem. slowly getting the drift out. but i noticed today that the throttle hold position plays a big part. in 'hold on' i can level the arms but when i put switch in normal the swashplate attitude changes. so i am adjusting for throttle normal.
If you don’t have zero pitch after the servo adjustment then wouldn’t you want to turn the Inks in a way that levelled the blades rather than turning them the same amount? Which is to say only make individual adjustments or do the links always have to be turned the same amount and be the same length.Wouldn’t that create same problem? Does turning right shorten them and turning left lengthen them? Thanks.
hello JJ I find very useful your videos, now that I have a blade 230s. I keep seeing you. I have a question, the center marks of the original parts of this helicopter (Rotor head and Blade Grips), serve as proof of 0 pitch aligning them?
Thanks I figured it out and now have the gear switch activated, and can go into the servo adjust mode. But now the swashplate is completely deviated no matter what I do.
+JJInvertedProduction Yes in servo adjustment mode all servos are centered perfectly, but once i save settings they revert back. ill post a video of exactly what happens.
The swash is always moving, HH says its normal. Mine moves as well. This has cause some issues taking off having to adjust heli while spooling up. If you have experience it shouldn't be a problem. If you are on Facebook come join my 230 s page, good place to talk to others with the 230 s
Hello again JJ. Using the DXe transmitter, do you enter servo adjustment mode the same way? Exit servo adjustment mode the same way? Thanks again for your help! Cheers.
I'm fairly new to the hobby and brand new to the 230. I love your your videos and I'm learning alot. Your how to videos are great, in what/when order should certain adjustments like swash level or? Be made for a new 230?
@@JJInvertedProduction How do you know if you have the latest firmware? You mean the transmitter? How do you update them? On the Spektrum website? I just ordered a 230 smart and I’m wondering if my DX6E will allow me to take full advantage of the telemetry. Apparently it was updated last year? How often do these need updating and how do you know they do? Thanks.
So, I have zero pitch at mid stick and also in the servo setup mode. I have more (not too much more) positive collective than negative. How do I get equal amounts of pitch both positive and negative? +10.4 -7.6
Hello JJ. Question for you. After a crash with my 230S the swashplate is way out of level. Would you recommend removing the control arm from the servo gear & leveling it this way? I will appreciate any help. Thank you very much.
hey JJ I really like your videos on the blade 230s. if i want to do the trim flight (with the dx9), the combination of the sticks and the bind button does not cause any reaction on the heli. Can you help me please? thx in advance
Hi JJ thanks for the video. I followed the exact procedure and all good however when checking for 0 pitch i do have a slight variance. Its not way off just a few degrees off. However after coming out of "Servo Adjustment Mode", with TH on and moving the Throttle up and down I can see that I have more +ve pitch than -ve. Is this normal or what am I missing here?? Thanks Jake
+jakeboynz It has to be very close at 0 pitch. Its hard to check positive and negative pitch because the gyro is always moving the swash around so I test fly. Do push outs upright and inverted, adjust pitch travel in radio until both directions feel the same/similar. Good luck
JJInvertedProduction Thanks for the reply. Test flied today and seemed to be all ok. Couldn't figure out how to change pitch travel on my DX6i. Goes only to +125%...Nothing in the minus. Jake
Hey JJ,I have the non black dx9 and the 230s and have been trying to get this to work with no luck.I tried finding your Facebook page to message you but struck out again...lol.Any advice on this would be very helpful....thanks in advance!
Hi. I assume what you are doing is fixing the settings after a crash. I wouldn't expect to be fixing and changing settings out of the box, or does HH ship faulty models regularly? Thanks
+5hanes My 230 s would have flown out of the box because settings were very close. I had to make small adjustments to level the swash. I was shooting video through out my pre flight check. At $250 its not expensive however cost enough for me to double check everything. I feel confident saying the majority of HH RTF helicopters will fly out of the box. Keep in mind this was a bind and fly so I had to setup my radio and bind it to the 230. Plus HH test fly these helicopters but don't try much more than hovering so I want to check everything to be confident it is ready for 3D.
+JJInvertedProduction Thanks for taking the time to explain. I have been practicing with the MSR and MSRX. The 230s will hopefully be a step up when I buy one. I just get frustrated with the technical side of things; I dial in recommended settings on my TX but have no real idea what they mean, even after constantly looking up definitions and advice online. I just feel like im in over my head, but at the same time I love these things. I'm still trying to get my head around Lipos. I just hope the technical side of things will eventually make more sense. I feel like I need an engineering degree just to understand your video. Hopefully one day it'll all become clear
+5hanes Further: I will be buying the BNF version and will set it up as the instructions tell me, but understanding what I am inputting in to my dx6i is another matter.
Digging your videos. Recent crashes my v2 230 and gonna be rebuilding in a week or so, waiting on parts lol. Is there anyway I could email you with questions, I’m out here in Hawaii and I’m the only person on my island that flies Heli. Online forums don’t seem to be enough assistance. Any way nice video and I know this was years ago but it’s new to me. Aloha.

+rich jones Most flb systems have a servo centering mode where the servos stay centered so you can make adjustments. Like on the 230 s while in this mode you can move the throttle and nothing happens.
Do not crash one of these, parts cost a lot for a small helli, a friend of mying crash it and we are at $100.00 of parts for it, that is way too much !

I can not get this option to work on my DX6i for anything.

you can use a zip tie if you don't have a swash level
Hi, my settings are ok, but what I notice during hovering is that my Heli is tilted slightly to the right. why is that?
It's compensating for tail spin/torque
I assume thats not normal, correct?
