I too like to finish notebooks quickly so I get why the lightweight midori insert would be annoying you totally not a jerk lol. I decided this year to journal my huge collection of Field Notes. I suggest you dismantle the lightweight paper insert and make 2 notebooks out of it! Or even 3. And I totally understand your frustration with the hobonichi cousin. I wish they’d separate the monthly/weekly calendar section from daily pages; I have no use for the former (I can’t use a Monday start planner) and the latter would be fantastic for my daily journaling. Otherwise I love your setup. Happy holidays/ new year in advance.
I totally love your midori standard size notebook set up! And I feel like having an analog is a forever evolving and changing process, especially for work. I am going to be using my hobonichi cousin as a bullet journal for 2018 and I'm pretty excited about it. :)
Love your systems! I wish Hobonichi would release an A5 version with just monthlies and weeklies..I’m trying to figure out how to use my daily pages next year without feeling like I’m “wasting” them :/ I don’t want to force myself to journal when I don’t feel like it but I’m not busy enough to fill out the dailies. I’m also tempted by the Jibun (in A5 slim) but the last time I tried it, I didn’t like it :( to be fair, it was in B6 slim so maybe..? Still, I refuse to buy another planner for 2018 xD
Do you prefer the dated calendars vs. the blank? Also, I have the brown with the olive Fourof (can't ever spell that properly)! It's such a perfect combo...like peanut butter and chocolate. (hee hee)
Analogue Kate I definitely prefer the dated!! The blank leaves me too much opportunity to mess up the numbering, and if I do that I have to either scrap the calendar and get a new one, or hate it and myself for the entire time I have to use the page(s) I ruined.
Hey Leila. Love your style and your set up videos. Really sorry I missed the caravan at ACE hotel. Do you know how I can keep to date with events like this? And if there are any more coming up? Thanks :)
Hey Curt! Thank you!! The best way I've found to keep up with Traveler's Caravan events is to follow them on Instagram. As far as I know, they don't have any kind of service where you can sign up to be notified when they'll be in your area (though that would be amazing!). Not sure where you are; they seem to bring the Caravan to NYC around Nov/Dec each year.
Leila, that like note book you said you put together. How did you bind it together??? The one you added to your notebook the first one you showed??? Im looking for a way to bind pages within sewing them!!
Susan Wright at a traveler's Caravan event in November. You can get them at the Traveler's Company store in Tokyo. If you're not in the Japan, maybe try online? It's a fourruof insert.
What nice writing you have! And I also like a thin, neat notebook.
I also like my TNs thin and not over stuffed. Nice setup 🙂

Same boat!! It seems like the A5 jibun techo would be perfect but I AM NOT buying another 2018 planner LOL
Happy Holidays to you and yours! I love the simplicity of your travelers notebook. Thanks, as always, for sharing and inspiring

I totally get that! Best leave that to the professionals (hee hee). Would hate it if you hated yourself! (where are my emojis!)

The mixed-paper one? I put it together with a long-arm stapler.
Where did you buy the nice dark green insert in the first TN?
