I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a [a]servant of the church which is at Cenchrea; 2 that you receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and that you help her in whatever matter she may have need of you; for she herself has also been a helper of many, and of myself as well.

the word suggests a servant and not a deacon. What do you guys think?

She was a helper in church

The word you are talking about is literally translated, a female overseer. If you are referring to the word deacon instead, then all the men in your church who are deacons should be doing the janitorial work and serving in the kitchen for church suppers instead of the women.

Paul - try to be a little more humble - you may have a disagreement on the description of deacon, but not on the actual words.
