Ha! I love hearing that you were both secret fans of each other. I've never been a big podcaster, but I had a little podcast and was lucky enough to interview Hayley when The Jezabels toured the U.S. I knew she liked to read a lot, and so I wanted to ask her if she had read Atlas Shrugged. But I saved that question to the end of the interview, in case it might be offensive to her--I had no idea. Turns out it wasn't. So the next question, Will, is whether there was something there that we both sensed, in the music or lyrics?
@@FireatWillPod fair enough. It turned out Simon Le Bon was also a bit of an Ayn Rand fan, and I was a huge fan of Duran Duran, so sometimes I wonder...
This was a seriously interesting interview. It must have been way, way harder for her to "come out" as...y'know... normal, lol. She's surrounded by fanatics, in that industry.
As a muso in my past I love to hear you talk this way. I was very much like you. In my gigs I sang folky songs but I picked them with a punk state of mind I wrote a song about war from a mother's point of view in an RSL I was told I would be thrown out but the RSL is full of service people not politicians. I got a standing ovation and a lot of people in tears. We know how to read the room. I follow my heart not someone else's ego and I see that in you Rock on little starshine🎆
Godspeed, Hayley. Keep up the music!
Well done Hayley, I think your decision will stand the test of time.

I don’t think so! I just thought they were catchy tunes 😂
