Yes, you can get great sounds like this from SampleTank on your computer.
As you can see in this and other videos, polyphony shouldn't be an issue. It may depend on device and other factors so if you are having a problem specifically you should contact tech support and they can help.
I'm told we typically run the output of the device into an audio interface (in the case of guitars, it would typically be our StealthPedal or StompIO) of which we have a few. In other words, yes SampleTank sounds THAT good. You can try the free version and hear it.
We also make that - it is iKlip. Follow the link in the description and you should see iKlip there on our web site.
As good as we could make it... it varies from device to device. If you would like more technical details you can visit our site and from there contact Technical Support who should be able to give you more technical answers.
Those iOS devices with iRig MIDI can serve as audio and MIDI interface with SampleTank on them yes. The computer version is completely independent and has great grand pianos as well, for sure.
iRig HD just went into preorder and will ship in May.
We recorded this directly - there was no external sync necessary. We recorded the output of the iPad playing our quality SampleTank sounds.
@belagiorgo Thanks for the suggestion, so far iOS has the best support for low-latency audio but we always look for appropriate markets for our music products
Yes it will, but the newer and faster your iPad is, the more sounds and FX you can use at once.
If your Yamaha has 5-pin MIDI ports (not USB MIDI) you can use iRig MIDI and SampleTank will work with any Core MIDI compliant device.
@BIGCTV18 We are using our own iKlip which attaches your iPad to a microphone stand. Very handy for studio, live, home, lots of places! You can purchase it at the IK Store on our site or at many major music retailers (online or traditional)
Everyone is complaining about popup ads interfering with performances in the AppStore reviews. Don't think I'll buy until that's resolved
You can find compatibility information on our web site: iRig MIDI is compatible with iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch (4th and 3rd generation), iPad 3rd generation, iPad 2 and iPad. They all require iOS 4.3 or later.
If you have 5-pin MIDI ports, you could use iRig MIDI. More information available at the link in the video description.
@Wawasaki SampleTank is Core MIDI compliant. We do not know which keyboards work directly with the CCK though, you'lll have to ask the manufacturer of the keyboard or search online.
@Tyruke - SampleTank polyphony is 2 or 3 times that of GarageBand, depending on the voices loaded.

This is from our FAQ: "When playing a Preset, factory or custom, one can click the Play button in the upper right corner to stop playback, or, click on the Preset number that was triggered to stop playback.
The patterns can be disabled from being triggered by clicking the Pattern Enable button on KEYS, PADS, and EDIT pages (EDIT page on iPod touch/iPhone).
Note: If a recording is loaded in the Recording Manager, you must first close the song in the Recording Manager to play new patterns."

Could you please share all this fine pieces you're playing? They're so beautiful and you playing them feels extremely good to hear.
According to the SampleTank iOS web page: "SampleTank is compatible with iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch (4th and 3rd generation), iPad 3rd generation, iPad 2 and iPad. They all require iOS 4.3 or later."
You don't mention what app you are using, but typically you'd use your controller (like your FP-4) to send MIDI data to the iOS device and then the sound comes out of the app and thus your iOS device speakers.
@logudorian - Tap the lit up red button with the arrow in it to the left of the program name in keyboard view, so that the red button turns grey. The loop triggers will be turned off, and the pink keys will turn white.
There are sounds that are not included with the Free version but you can purchase them as in-app purchases. Perhaps that is what is happening? If not, please contact technical support and they will help you.

Anything that pops up will only do so when the app starts, never in the middle of a performance. Reviews are frequently things that could easily be explained/resolved by contacting us via the support link provided in iTunes but that is not how it happens unfortunately.
So basically, both the I-rig and the I-phone, or I-Pod touch are simply a portable (mobile) computer interface in itself. That's what I needed to know. Will exact "samples of several world-renown grand pianos including the most sought-after Steinway® and Yamaha® models" be available in the windows version of the software ?

You can get tips like this from our official forum, you should visit ikmultimedia[dot]com/forum - here's the user's tip on this "for those who may not know, go to keys tab, hit the part you want the arp off of, and hit the little red note button. This turns it off. repeat for all the part in the set. Save it as a preset.

Hi, I was wondering if the sampletank app would work on a keyboard that only has a USB port (specifically the m audio keyrig 49) using the iPad camera connection kit? I'd appreciate any response. If so, tomorrow I'll have my sampletank app bought :)!

First of all, fantastic piano play! I have a question. I just bought the I-rig MIDI and connect it to my digital piano Roland FP-4 but i cant get the sound out of my Roland's internal speakers. There are buttons to get to each part of the interface, like the keys, sounds, etc.

The irigpro contains sample tank! but if i only get the irgi midi? and use my own keyboard they i have to pay to get sampletank which is what 400? compared to maybe 200? if i got the irigpro keys ???

You can use other controllers with SampleTank
the irig midi? replaces the ? irigpro>?? so you either use the rig pro? and or your own keyboard plus the irigmidi?

Yes. The MIDI controller in this video is not an iRig Keys.

Wie kann ich das Mastervolume bei Sampletank mit live Session speichern. Sounds habe ich zusammengestellt auf Chanal 1 und Lautstärke bei jedem Instrument separat gespeichert. Problem dabei ist, wenn ich mit dem Volumepedal Blueboard arbeite klingen die Sounds verzerrt bzw.fangen zum knacksen an.Bitte um eure Hilfe. 👍 Danke

If exporting audio doesn't fit your workflow, you'd have to route the output of your iOS device or audio interface attached to your iOS device in order to do so.
