    The scenery is exceptional! The roads look absolutely real - great modeling. The weathering on the rolling stock is just perfect, not overdone and the engineer with his elbow hanging out the window is awesome! Thanks for sharing your work!

    You have one of the most realistic looking model railroads around. Great scenery, nicely weathered equipment, superior track and wonderful sound makes for a very realistic and, for you, satisfying, layout. Thank you for sharing with us.

    That modeling looks so real someone could mistake it for the real thing. Nice Job!
    Also, I've looked at Bradford, VT on Google Maps to try and find the part of the town this part of the layout was modeled after, but I couldn't find it.

    I don't know how your videos have escaped me before this evening, but thank goodness UA-cam recommended one of them to me tonight, then took me on to many others. Your layout is most impressive and the low-angle photography you use when making your videos greatly adds to the realism. As someone who grew up watching Lehigh Valley branch line trains in Allentown, PA, this video really took me back to the 1960s and 1970s. EMD SWs and NW-2s were used almost exclusively to switch out industries along the lines during my childhood, so the sights and sounds I just witnessed really brought back wonderful memories from my youth. I was fortunate enough to be befriended by the engineer and crew between 1968 and 1972 and received a number of cab rides throughout those years. As I watched your engine crossing the road near the beginning of your video, I envisioned the figure visible in the conductor's seat to be myself at age 13 or 14, enjoying every moment! Thanks so much for taking the time to include a video of a local doing its daily switching. I know there are a lot of guys who, like me, would rather watch a slow moving local crawling along weed covered, rusting rails than witnessing fast moving freights speeding along well-ballasted main lines. I hope you'll consider filming more videos featuring similar action.

    Neil, Thanks for posting another excellent video of your layout and the switching action of the local. The Agway scene from the angle you shot the video shoving the cars into the shed looks very realistic. That switcher in B&M maroon and gold is a very nice unit, you did a fantastic job on it.-Tom

      @@MoonwolfeConsulting Hi, at the 10:53 minute mark the caption reads "The local starts switching out grain cars at the Agway". There is an Agway sign next to the Shell gas station that reads Agway, Bradfod, VT, Entrance. Neil has done a fantastic job on his layout and I really enjoyed the video.

    ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL MODELING SIR!!! Attention to detail is TOP NOTCH, and that goes for not just the loco and basic scenery, but car selection, sound, ops, backdrop, signs, etc. etc. You've captured New England, and in 'modern' times to boot (not modeled enough for my taste)! I can only aspire to get to this level of completion for my 1990's N Scale Mass./Maine layout- but your vids help push me to get there. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR WORK and please keep 'em coming!

    Loved this video Neil and the way you take us all into Bradford for a casual day trackside. Favorite details were the TV antenna at 20:00, the wonderful signage and normally forgotten open door on the Conrail boxcar.
    Leaves me looking forward to checking out the old siding down by the freight house, to see the way things really look on the prototype and harvest some new modeling ideas.👍👍

    Beautiful camera work. Impressive detail. I do, however, have one complaint (There is always one.) I would prefer to have a few wider shots to understand what is happening from place to place. Show the beautiful tight shots, but cross-fade in a few wider shots to allow me to follow start, finish, and middle.

    • @NRS8400
      @NRS8400  5 років тому

      Thanks for the compliments Donald. One of the ways I try to portray the layout is from a railfan's perspective, at ground level. The era is set in 1980, so long before drone shots:-) I'm also limited by my phone camera and the ability to pan and zoom during shooting. Maybe someday I'll invest in a more versatile camera, but for now I'm going to stick with the phone camera.Thanks for watching.

    • @anotherluckyone
      @anotherluckyone 3 роки тому

      @@NRS8400 I like the shots as they are as I feel it makes the overall scene bigger that I expect it actually is. It also creates a sense of mystery as to what is around that next bend in the track or just out of view. I have a small shelf layout and you have given me ideas on how to make it seem larger by these close / narrow shots. Thank you.

      @NRS8400  Рік тому +1

      Hi Justin,
      Yes, common for many western roads to make it all the way to New England, though it should be done in moderation. Santa fe cars regularly made it to Vermont as insulated cars carrying a variety of products from CA including beer and wine.
