Its impressive on how you demonstrated with throwing to the corners. The traction system works well. The mechanical package seems rather famous established brand (Ford engine and ZF Gearbox). The cabin NVH and built seems refined too. Angka-Tan Motor actually have been long in commercial vehicles business just not well known for private car market. Perhaps more intro on the fuel consumption, after-sales expenses would help buyer gain better perspective on this JMC. Thank you Mr Khong for this drive.
Noted on your comments. We had a very short time, just 1 day, so we had not much time to do anything else. Perhaps they would give it to me for a longer period of time for other tests.
Dear YS Khong, am an avid fan of your hill climb car review. You are a true champion, and at 70 years old, your reflexes are still sharp. Kudos. Loved your review especially on the Arteon 4 Motion and M340i, those are mechanically top notch cars with all wheel drive and horsepower. However compared to this JMC, on a daily drive, I don't see much purpose to buy the other two cars, as the JMC clock the run to Gohtong Jaya in 6 mins and the two other cars clock exactly at 5 mins. 1 min difference, I don't see the rational in buying the Arteon or the BMW. Overall up to the top of the hill, the Arteon clock 12 mins and the JMC 15 mins to reach the top. 3 mins difference, no senses to pay RM 250k for 3 mins difference. Purpose for a vehicle is to take you from point A to point B. If most people are into racing, then it makes sense to go for the better cars. All am trying to say is that people should buy cars base on their needs not lifestlye, unless you are super rich, then there is no harm in trying the finer cars available in the market. Keep up the good work and keep the reviews coming, although I would like to see you review the daily used Malaysian cars, not necessary new cars. At least our local Malaysians would have an idea whether they are driving a good car or not. Just my two cents ✌ tq
Hi, HS Yeap, Agree with you 100 percent. People actually buy cars based on their needs. As for the videos, they enjoy watching just to see how well thise cars handle, and whilst some actually buy, many just share in my joy of moving those cars up the mountain. Many of our fans are normal people, who would never drive so fast, they just enjoy watching, and I love everyone who likes our videos. We also have our haters, but it is all part and parcel of the game.
Pls don't get me wrong, I love your car reviews... am definitely a fan not haters... just thought you can review a good run of the day jalopy... like a 2006 E280 Mercedes for the matter... as you are a true skill driver, I only trust your reviews compared to other car journalist... you do make reviews on the new daily use Malaysian cars like the Perodua Myvi... but in order to have a wider fan base/subscriber, I don't know exactly my stats, but am quite sure that 50% of Malaysians are still driving old bangers... so reviews on good well maintain old bangers would be interesting... but is ENTIRELY your call as is your channel... take care, tq for your time...
Hi YS, loved yr videos. I am presently driving a 2021 Great Wall Cannon ute or truck (named POER in china) in Melbourne with almost the same specs as the JMC but the Cannon looks more aggressive and nice. It's getting popular in Aus because of price and full safety specs, 7 yrs warranty 7yrs road side assist too.
Excellent. Yes, the China formula for trucks seems to have similar traits, that of picking good stuff from well known makers and putting them together. Many car makers do the same, buy engines from engine makers, buy transmissions, and put them together in their own built up bodies. A quick way to buy consumer confidence. And thanks for watching our videos!
Sir Yoong..everything is good in this content of enlightenment about this jmc vehicle.. But..when i see ur skill of driving..- U are 1 bad ass driver behind the wheel..huraaa..u hv my respect Sir
We have this in Cambodia but the brand is so new that not many are aware of it. I've been researching as well about this JMC, not a lot of video reviews on it until I just saw your latest drive. This sol it for me. The GWM Poer is not yet available in Cambodia, the Changan Hunter is also not available in Cambodia. So I've been looking at this for awhile now.
JMC Vigus Pro already in Cambodia, there's a lot video and FB there. I also consider to buy back the Truck and thats one which my top consideration (im mean truck from China as JMC are partnership with Ford in China). Im really surprised Mr. YS Khong driven this Truck like Rally Car (look him how to pass the S Connor) , real impressive for me. (Im user not car company). Thanks
This car interior actually look nice... But if anyone still figuring out what truck to own. It depends on ur pocket size, aftermarket value, the purpose of the vehicle and soo on.. buf if comparing between dmax or JMC for me its easy.. i goes to dmax 100% since it depreciation value is lower compare to any Chinese car brand.
Good comment. As for the depreciation on the JMC, we don't know yet, as the brand is still new. If performance and reliability is good, the second hand value will be good.
@@YSKhongDriving yes uncle.. well we gonna see it after 2-3 years i think. By the way, glad to see u rocking and driving uncle. Take care of u health uncle 😁😁😁😁
I’m surprised YS did engage 4WH for tarmac roads regardless of whether road is wet or not. From my knowledge only Mitsubishi Super Select allow 4WH without difflocks to go on tarmac.
Many reasons why people buy or don't buy a vehicle. Price versus wallet size, usage, parts and service, trust in the seller or the brand, relationship between buyer and seller, features, needs and wants. Nothing gives - we just evaluate the vehicle through our eyes, our hands and feet. If one is good, it does not mean the other is bad. The DMax is higher priced, and has more features, and if you like it, please do go ahead and buy it.
Don't switch to 4h(while driving on tar raod) on this type of 4wd system, because the central differentials will distribute the power to the front & back wheel evenly.... Of course it can be done in mitsubishi triton with super select 4wd
In Pakistan we just start getting these trucks here, im interested in this and specially want to know how reliable are these, are these engine reliable Because in 3rd world we all need reliability and simplicity Also does it have diff locks?
@@YSKhongDriving i have no idea how reliable ford engines are But i lived in middle east and heard about American vehicles aren't that reliable as Japanese are. i had Chevrolet sedan which was terrible always had engine problems and nissan altima was alot more better and reliable than that
@@YSKhongDriving I mean in the rainy days. Light vs heavy rain, when should we engage the 4H? So many mixed opinion. Some people say there's no need 4H in the rain while others say yes we should. Worry that when it's raining and the road isn't slippery enough, the 4wd will get binding.
I just watch Hilux video, why so big different of the engine sound? This JMC Ford engine seem like petrol engine, no sound at all? Hilux engine sound among the loudest in all truck video.
Thank you for showing us the truck even though it was raining. The cabin is so quiet.

Excellent Driving Ys, good test drive...really proof this is a good value buy
Yes, it is really a good package, and overall quality is good.
Surprisingly this trunk can climb up Genting effortlessly.
I think it is also slower compared to other pickups
It is a bit slower but it can still do it. The 8 speed gearbox helps a lot.
I'm from Pakistan ❤️ i love it

Di-mek 2.1 or 3.0 are both asthmatic!!
Can u please drive the Aston Martin DBX up to genting, this videos entertain me, thanks Mr Khong
very rare, hope uncle could find one to drive
Hahaha, if we can get a car, why not? In the meantime, please watch our other videos, and have you subscribed?

Uncle, you dancing on the pedals? What's that knocking or tapping sound?
Camera mount vibrating. And yes it is like a dance if you are driving fast.

It is ok when road is wet, because there is wheel slip. You will note when road dried up I turned it back to 2H.
So which is actually a better value buy uncle, JMC or Dmax X Terrain 3.0?i liked Dmax system and interior so what gives? Thanks Uncle!
They are not the same price. D-max is very classy and expensive too
