Great song one if the most soulful harmonica peaces in history in my late 60s now and still get chills when l hear it the power of great music go Mike.👀✌️
I came to Australia in 1971, I still have thease memories.Sunbury festival, Berties, Sebastian, Pennats galery, Matthew Flinders Hotel,International hotel ets...ets ets.Good all times.I teach my grand son the songs of our time.
Mike Rudd and Spectrum were the first live band I ever saw. Amazing sound, outdoors, between the goalposts on the Elizabeth High School oval at lunchtime. After a few songs, Mike introduced their new song "I'll Be Gone". Sooo amazing as a 13 year old...no turning back ..."rock'n'roll here I come!"
Its called 'intonation'...which in this case is spot on, not # or b its just flipp'n spot on.....11 people voted this down, man...you people are nowhere....
God I love this live version. I'll be honest, my mates and I used to kind make fun of this song when we were kids; it's daggy (but in retrospect really cool) black and white video, the loping groove, the hippy-lyrics; we thought it was hilarious. Over the years though I've grown very fond of the song. This version is really stirring.
I saw Mike last night in Adelaide still bloody brilliant ... Was so good to catch up with him and the boys Robbo, Brock, Daz... Thanks For A Great Night
A feckin brilliant rendition. Rudd has lost nothing and that backing band was the ace of aces. NEVER shoulda let that keyboard/guitar virtuoso slip away.
I first saw Spectrum playing at a farm in a shearing shed in 1970. Was part of the entertainment linked to the weekend Cobram Peaches and Cream Festival in 1970. Main stage was back at beautiful Thomson's Beach in Cobram and there were huge logs to lean against while sat on the sand enjoying the music. I stupidly got wasted that weekend 🤢and can't remember if the Master's Apprentices turned up? If they did i'm sure would have enjoyed their magnificence. 😀👍 Have great daytime memories of that weekend so long ago and are pleasant memories. Cheers cobbers. Life, music and memories are all i have but that's all an old fart like me needs anyway. 😜😎Peace.
Michael David Rudd (born 15 June 1945) is a New Zealand-born musician and composer who has been based in Australia since the late 1960s, and who was the leader of Australian progressive rock bands Spectrum and Ariel in the 1970s.
Holllyyyy Fucken Shit! Just watched the original film clip and then found this Holllyyyy Fucken Shit, both are fantastic. Have loved Spectrum for many years but have not heard this last video, love it!

Thanks New Zealand! But all hale our 70's to 90's shared pub rock scene; and a curse on poker machines!!!

Timeless classic from the Spectrum front man - grew up on this Australian classic music!!
The most exciting era of Aussie music. A really individual style started to develop in the early 70s.
holy shit ! his voice is so strong... this is perfect..the original was more mellow..this is just..dominating.. so damn good !!!
Classic Australian music. My band still happily covers this because we know that everywhere we play it, people go nuts!
Fucking fantastic!
Cool man and never stop. Peace.

The best Australian song of all time.
Nobody can convince me otherwise.
Glorious listening in 2023!
This is absolutely flawless and amazing given that it is 45 years after Spectrum first performed this song. Brilliant.

The Rockwiz orchestra are a brilliant backing band.
