@Katelyn0531 It's true. If the offender has a weapon and if the officer feels like they are in danger then they are allowed to shoot. However, the common mistake, in reality, is the fact that a lot of officers don't access the situation properly or wait to see the weapon entirely (unlike here where she has a full view of the weapon) and as a result, a lot of 'officers shooting innocent victims' cases are out there.

Tasers are very unreliable, maybe a 50% success rate and not something you'd pull in a known murderer
Only Patrol officers in uniform mainly carry tasers, un-uniformed cops don’t really carry em, all un-uniformed cops carry are just their gun, cuffs, maybe pepper spray, and extra mag/clip for ammo
