Superb looking nymph Davie. Nicely tied up. Many thanks for sharing.
Didnt have any green quill for these today so I used an under body of lime green antron body yarn and then brought up a single strand of peacock herl. Worked nicely :) looks very similar :).
Nice simple fly, Tied up a few similar to this with a standard bead, in several different colours and used it as my dropper fly at fisheries and I absolutely hammered the rainbows on it, lime green and red especially gave me plenty of fish. Definitely worth a shot for the brownies when the rivers have a good run on them as well.
Thanks.

That's another nice looking nymph. Have you ever used Uni-Stretch? It seems like it would work well for the tag and be bobbin-friendly; though I've never tried it. As a suggestion, could you do a video using wiggle-dub for the thorax? I've had very good luck with that product over the years, but I'm curious as to what you could do with it.
Thanks for your time,
Ken Watson
Hi Ken,
I do have a few colours of the Uni-Stretch and it's a great floss to use for tags, I bought it when I was over in Canada as they use it a lot on their salmon flies...It can be a bit hard to find here in the UK so I use the Glo-Brite Floss as it's just as good and is far easier to find in most shops..I have also used the Wiggle-Dub before though it was only sample packs I had when tying at a show, I just never got round to buying some and I would agree with you it's a good dubbing to use...
All the very best Davie
Bill Keough, owner of Keough Hackles recently bought Hareline Dubbing. I actually only live about an hour's drive from his farm. I'm thinking about trying to set up a tour for myself. Would you be interested in another sponsorship, provided that I can speak to the
fellow in person?
Hi handcannon,
I do use Bills capes and as well I have Hareline Dubbing materials which I would certainly recommend for any tyer to use as they are a good fly tying company..I'm always looking for help as it's not cheap to do these videos as they do take a lot of time and equipment to make them..
All the very best Davie
Great looking nymph. I don't have that color peacock but I have some green so I'll try it with what I have. Attractive to the fish I bet. All the best to you and your family. God bless. Sean
Hello. Thanks so much for videos. I really enjoy them. I like this pattern a lot and tried to tie it several times but I am having a hard time with getting the peacock to stay still when tying, especially when tying off the peacock. Do you have suggestions? Thanks again
Hi g steer,
Winding the herl over the superglue should hold the herl in place so that it doesn't move but just give it time to stick. It will also help if you wax your thread at the point of tying off the herl as this will hold better as well...I'm glad you enjoy the videos and I hope this is of some help to you...
All the very best Davie
What's the brand of the dyed peacock? I've seen dyed peacock before but none that lays out like that. It's nice.
Hi William,
The peacock eyes I use come from Veniards, I ask for the extra large eyes which have the best markings so they dye really well as you can see...So if you can find a shop that stocks their materials I'm sure they will be able to help you...
All the very best Davie...
Beautiful nymph Davie! Buggy yet just enough flash to be seen in high or colored water. Black & green are excellent for steelhead too. We're having almost the opposite water conditions where I live, almost drought conditions. Below normal snow and rain so far to bring up typical conditions. Thanks Davie, everything you tie is a gem and learning experience!
