Though I don't know you did the same or there is another process for that. So, kindly explain because you creates magic in the name of designs and we need to learn those magics.

He copied the letter A with Ctrl + C, then pasted in front with Ctrl + F.. So 2 layers of same letter.. Then same applied to B and C.. Ask if you still dont undestand..

You can also use the grid and 'snap to grid' function for that in current Illustrator edition (2019).

in AI CC 2017 you take the direktchoose thingy, mark the edges and a little dot will come out of nowhere, its pure magic
