I bought some cheap Unusual Courier, it came with no socket, I used the chisel but it added a common socket (not compatible with the gems). Is there a way to add the rare socket, or I have to by the courier with already existing rare sockets?
You cant.. You need articifers brand to make normal couriers into unusual one.. Trust me .. Its much more cheaper to buy unsual couriers in steam market than making your own ...

buy your desire unusual courier, it has it's own gem socketed. And yes if you don't like that particular gem, try search market and get your ideal gem. Replacing your ideal gem to the unusual courier will destroy your current socketed gem

Brel Espina Not at the moment, there is no possible way. Apparently there's a tool that can change a standard quality courier into an unusual quality courier but it has not been released yet. So people currently get their couriers from treasure/in game drops.

kang samreth if you extract the gem out it will destroy your unusual courier. And to do it you have to buy a tool in.market to do it

its no usable in crafting so that courier is not eligible for rare slots...
