I'm a 30-odd-year-old guy, but tbh I *cried* when I heard this. I've been a lifelong ABBA obsessive and I wrote to Agnetha in the 90s when I was I closeted sad teen, saying how much I regretted that ABBA split up before I was born. As soon as I first heard this, it hit me like a wave: the harmonies, the instrumentation, the richness, that signature wall-of-sound. How could I not cry?! I'm *ALIVE* for new ABBA music. Also, mate, your clapbacks to those moronic comments are hilarious, but honestly, the best thing to do is IGNORE THEM. You're having a massive influx of newcomers (including me) because of your ABBA reactions, but don't change yourself because of it! Most of them won't stick around anyway, they're just hungry for reactions to the new stuff. Not me though, I've subscribed! The concert is a real concert you can go and see in a purpose built arena now under construction in London, due to open May 2022, 3,000 capacity. I’ve got tickets and can’t wait! To see them as they appeared in 1979 but performing the vocals and concert performance now should be amazing.

I was in musicals way back then ,and ABBA were always included ,so I'm having another journey with ABBA ,who would have thought, I'm so happy for this new album. This album should cement them as the greatest pop band ever ,but I guess they were already ,but I'm biased.

As one of the elder fans, I remember buying each album and single as it was released. The first was Greatest Hits in 76 which was a huge album at the time. As a fan sometimes the wait for the next release was frustratingly painful but, following ABBA chronologically, it was always incredible witnessing the giant leaps in their work. For me its incredible that they have finally recorded together again and Im so pleased the younger fans who weren't even born when ABBA released their last original album are getting to experience something of what we experienced, mainly the first listen. You have to remember, ABBA are Swedish. There was no internet back then, three TV channels in the UK, Limited Radio in comparrison to today. To promote a new record ABBA worked their asses off visiting virtually every country in Europe. By the time they had decided to take a break at the end of 1982, fans in Germany hadn't seen promotion on TV channels in England and vice versa. As fans, we had to comminicate by letter, snail mail as its known today...there was no email! Yet ABBA had hits on every continent. Im really glad younger fans are enjoying the return so much and I hope you all try to get to London to see the Voyage concerts. Its ABBA, it'll be amazing.

Hi Blizzards. It's refreshing to hear younger people appreciate what many call old school. Your comments are thoughtful, analytical as far as they need to be and you don't seem to have an axe to grind. Your heart also comes into play too. Most people find Abba's music soul touching whether up or sad. To see the faces of people react they all soon have that mellow smileful look that their good music engenders. Keep doing what you do Blizzards . Like Abba be real to yourself ....it's too easy to be spiteful and destructive nowadays, what takes real guts is like Abba...we can all take a leaf out of their lyrics and tunes and vision, whatever age or background. The people (Industrial Light and Magic) who did the special effects for The Star Wars Movies, The Harry Potter movies, Jurassic Park and many others are doing the motion capture and digital effects for the ABBA concert. I witnessed the first showing of 2001 a Space Odyssey truly mind-blowing at the time, I witnessed the first showing of Jurassic Park which was also mind blowing hopefully those who get to witness the first full virtual concert will have the same experience. If it works the possibilities for artists to show their work as it was first presented and so many other forms of historical, artistic works could follow. The 21st century of self driving cars, virtual concerts, and interplanetary travel has begun. Be grateful you get to witness the start of it all.

The motion capture performers were Abba themselves, so the movements and facial expressions are actually the band members. I'm not sure how the "holograms" work but I think it's way more complicated than lighting etc., to the extent that, as far as I know, this show can't go on tour. In fact, they are building a purpose built arena in the Olympic Park in London to host it. So I don't think the tech needed for the show is at all portable.
Ah yes I get you. That makes sense now alright. So it is just within one arena and the motion capture performers are ABBA themselves? That is really cool!

I get they are avatars though, but let's say when the avatars are performing.. are they going to appear on a screen or is it going to be more of an augmented reality experience?
