- Tech Buildings are neutral structures that exist on some maps and can be captured by any player for various bonuses. In Red Alert 2: YR we had 7 tech buildings. In Mental Omega we have nearly 30!
There are the regulars tech structures and there are some tech defensive structures as well.
Every Tech Building is shown in video along with a brief description of what it does.

Note that this is for the previous version of the mod. In the current one (3.3.6) they all work mostly the same, barring some balancing here and there. The Tech Irradiator has been removed and a weaker version is now a support power for the Russians.
Can you stack veterancy? one spy in barracks and one captured academy = rank 2 infantry?
@@rickardlejonklou8474 Nope. You can only train Veteran infantry through either the Academy of through spies infiltrating buildings. The Soviet support power Elite Reserves can bump this up to Elite as normal for most basic units, but drops down to Veteran again afterwards.
Bonus fact about both the Tech Bunks: As long as you have infantry in them, you can repair them like your normal structures, via the repair tool.

Exist on some skirmish maps as well, at least existed in 3.3.4.
Althought it's not mentioned in list.

The mean thing about the Tech Irradiator and HMG Tower is that they are nearly impossible to recapture. Once somebody has them, the fragile engineers rarely manage to get them back. In other words, the old tactic of "just sending a engineer and a dog over there since it is so early in the game that they probably don't have much units yet" doesn't work on them.
The HMG tower has a blind spot where it can't shoot ( too close to it ) combine with some transport it can be recapture ( though not very practical and neccessary to do so ) while the irradiator you have to be quick with the same strategy or watch your engie melt to death ( again not very practical to do so and destroying them is more practical than sending transport with engie )
@@volknetai.3690 Exactly, you need an transport to capture. Which usually you have to wait till mid-game to spare the resources. At this points tanks/planes are already on the field, making these structures less useful.

a fact when playing with A.I in Mental Omega, they have this nasty habit of capturing all of the tech structures in a game. If it were not for their unlimited money they would be broke almost instantly
You forgot to say that the tech artillery has minimum range, so if you attack it at short distance, you can destroy it safely
Tech HMG has minimum range also. Easy recapture with trasnported engi.

There's something about the Tech Satellite Hack Center.
It will sometimes shroud the map in fog of war as if you lost it. But within seconds it will return showing the entire map like as it was supposed to be.
That's because of the Black Widow support power. If a Black Widow plane flies over the hack center, it will re-shroud your entire map for a couple of seconds. Once the plane is destroyed, things will go back to normal. It's really annoying indeed.

Moreover, i thought Black Widow only affects radars not the satellite hack center lol
@@NAF12-author They effect everything, EVEN YOUR DEFENSES (I think). They also provide a boost to nearby allied units, best used when calling in a massive airstrike. Get enemy defenses to focus on the widow while your air units mop up the entire base up clean.
@@doggo_woo black widow : halves the damage of defenses at the affect area,disable radar in the area,increase damage resistance to ally aircraft in the area by 50%

Liking how you explained each Tech Structure alongside with footage showing how they work.
You should certainly add capturable time machine
It allows you to use stopping time and training campaign units ( such as cosmonauts )

For those who see this comment in the future, Mental Omega is the best gaming experience I've ever had. Familiarize yourself with the tech tree though, or some things will give you a headache. They have all the info on that on the website.

@@michaelandreipalon359 Yuri isn't that OP in this. In-fact, alot of units are immune to mind controlling. Plus, can't control what you can't reach! (I like playing with air and artillery units)

Well if we are this game I'm curious if RA1 buildings work and like their base defenses are usable and such. Doubt they do anything apart from being as decoration but well. XD
Outside of the campaign mission they are just decoration. In some mission they may have some spacial purpose ( old lab in archetype to be capture and also all defenses work properly in that mission,old war factory in road to nowhere when destroy it grant you old elite mammoth tank )and a bit of veterancy if destroyed

You can garrison guardian G.I,and other AA basic infantry
But they lose their AA capabilites.
And also a hero ( malver )can be garrisoned. This hero appear to be initiat when select the garrisoned building( purple infantry ). Unlike the initiat he provide the suppression aura though weaker compare to doing so outside the building

No. Only the ones you produce while controlling a Defense Bureau will be upgraded.

Notes and questions about Mental Omega that weren't mentioned
-Powerplants and Nuclear reactors cannot be infiltrated to cut the power (according to at least one source)
-SH-Center let you see the entire map, how does it work with things like Gap generators? will it constantly update or is it a one time deal?
-Do Academy, Heavy Machinery, Aeronautic, Military Docks, Defense Bureau stack like they do in RA3? (never noticed more than one pr map)
-Maintenance Facility will also repair Civilian buildings (good for city combat) as well as objects and barriers like Hedgehogs and campfires.
-HMG towers have the ability to fire over walls but have a 1tile blindspot around it, this lets enemies drive up to it and unload an engineer to capture it safely.
The Tech Satellite Hack Center works exactly like the vanilla Allied SpySat Center. The Gap Generator will keep the area around it shrouded, but if it's destroyed or powered down, it will instantly reveal the area.
Veterancy Tech buildings don't stack. In the same vein, it does not stack with Veterancy boosts given by infiltration.
It is probabbly map-dependednt but Secret Lab used to gave acces to random tier 3 "Monster Tank" back in 3.3.4 (I am not sure if its the same in 3.3.5)
That was changed in 3.3.5 to no longer be the case

whenever i garrisoned those sizes of bunkers, they're repairable. and i ain't gonna let these jackass kirovs, hovers, fohen flying machines, and artillery vehicles destroy my plans.
One nice thing about tech power plants is that they can't be infiltrated

Does Tech Academy and Tech Heavy Machinery stack with spy infiltrated promoted infantry and vehicles?
i.e. if you have both Tech Heavy Machinery and a spy infiltrated war factory, will your produced vehicles start as heroic? or veteran?
Nope, they didn't stack

i throught Tech Irradiator was useless against tank, but i was wrong.... the only way to take this building is air unit without getting to much damage
