I'm with you. If Anthony Gordon gets injured we need a QUALITY replacement and it's unlikely to get one better than Barnes, who has a great scoring record per tine played.
Elanga absolutely does not have 13 assists so far this season... Pretty sure he's 3 goals/3 assists? Elanga is a slight improvement on Murphy imo but Mbuemo is a different class.
Yeah its a typo, he has only 3 assists. I don't like Elanga's attitude. He could be an apple that upsets the dressing room. Tyler Dibling would be my target - I think he could be better than Gordon if Howe can coach him. Newcastle lawyers need to examine the UEFA rule to see if we get him now if he could qualify as a club trained player as we would need to get him before he turns 19 (which is February) otherwise he cannot fulfil the 36 months at a club between 15-21. We currently only have Longstaff who is club trained, we desperately need to fill the 4 slots if we (hopefully) get Europe.
@@phoenixfire6559Was thinking the same with Dibling Newcastle should go after him look at players like Lewis Hall and Tino Livermento very good players and been coached very good.
I don’t think Elanga is enough of an upgrade on Murphy to be anything other than a band aid. We need something on the level of AG10 on the right, and Elanga isn’t it.
There's not many players in Gordon class that we could afford if you listen to reports, we have to be realistic ,lucky and creative in my view, bur yes I agree elanga is not in Gordon's league
@AllStarSnork mbemo for me aswell if we have a choice but probably too much money involved same with elanga prem players are to expensive probably end up finding a gem from abroad with Mitchell 🤞

Really don't want to lose Barnes like myself he's class just unfortunately for him were playing so well but if we do get chapions league footy again we will need him
If we sell Barnes which other LW besides Gordon do we have? He should really get more minutes, was our higher goalscorer until Isak kicked in this form
Joelinton, Willock and Isak can all play off the left. In comparison, we have only one left footed player (Almiron) in the whole of our attack. I don't want to sell Barnes and think the story is nonsense but he's definitely not unsellable if a good offer is made.
Barnes going out might mean a youth player getting a chance, there's a few exciting prospects at the toon in the u21s and youth setup that play on the left. I think we don't want to risk loans unless they are to decent clubs after what's happened to kuol.
You and Luke Edwards are wrong about Barnes. We overpaid for him 18 months ago he's worth no more than £30-35 million now. He signed a 5 year contract so his book value will be about £28 million. So if we did sell him for £35 million we'd bank £7 million. Hence were better off selling Miggy as his original fee will now be paid off.....
I think the original fee never gets paid off, just extended e.g. for Miggy, I can't remember the numbers but lets say we paid £20m for him on a 5 year deal, then £4m comes off every year. At year four we would have £16m but if he then signs a four year extension, the remaining £4m again gets split over 5 years. So Miggy probably would only be 80-90% profit right now rather than the full 100% of an academy graduate.
That's very short term thinking. Not only would we bank £7m for him this season but save on his amortisation cost for the next 3 years so over that 3 year period we get an extra £35m plus saved wages to reinvest
@@davidwebster5946the original post is correct. When you sell a player you have to also pay off any outstanding amortization values before you get any profit. So selling Harvey will only give us a £7million profit - also we lose a good squad player who scores goals.
We sold minteh and anderson for psr then were bidding 60 mil for guehi we didnt get him now in january we need to sell harvey barnes to buy someone ? Make it make sense
Because it’s a rolling 3 years we are paying PSR problems the club did years ago it’s not about now , that’s why Mitchell said it wasn’t fit for purpose and the club had massively been overspending with Amanda ect ,
Not sure in Elanga, not consistent enough for the very top level that we're aiming for, if we want to compete at the top we need levels above Elanga, i know that costs more, but if this really is the priority position we shouldn't be going just for average
Because PSR is a rolling 3 years so we are paying the price from years ago because we over spent , the club new it and still spent because they wanted champions league and we couldn’t afford it so we are paying the price , it’s not about now ,
Smokescreen. We have no PSR issues for the current year but may have them if we buy players. Some [Arsenal] journalists love to muddy the waters by confusing the two so they can whore out our best players and give us crap ones in return. Also, there are 2 PSRs, one for UEFA and one for FA. The FA one we are absolutely fine, the UEFA one might be tighter which is why we probably can't buy without selling as the loss limit for UEFA is far lower. Don't expect us to lose any of our best players in Jan but it depends whether or not we get CL football if we keep them in the Summer.
@LGlifeisgood yeah i understand that but who did we sign in the summer who did we sign in January we were going to splash out 65 million but it didn't happen and i do believe are Revenue has Significantly risen in the past 2 years so that's why am a little confused
@ if we don’t buy in Jan we will loose nobody, if we can sell a few players then we can buy if we don’t sell then we can’t , the PSR is why Chelsea was giving players 10 year contract because if they bought a 60 million player it worked out 6 million per year over 10 years even though they know that players aren’t staying for 10 years, it was clever accounting, but we gave players 3 year contracts so a 60 million player cost us 20 or 3 years , that’s why are revenue hurt us even more and that’s how Chelsea could keep spending, they didn’t brake the rules , they just had better legal and accountants to get around the PSR FFP rules , we had been silly just like zero interest loans that went into the clubs for free we could of injected hundreds of millions into the club but didn’t,
I laugh when UA-cam channels get their info from papers and social media, nothing is worth reporting even if it is being stated until player or club states the obvious, usually nothing happens everyone is wanting the good old click baits and I mean everyone, no matter what club supporters are youtubing ,it gets boring
Silly season has started on papers rehashing players. Rw is priority but we can’t play premiership prices for the likes of mbuemo cunha elanga. For me I don’t mind the Harvey Barnes sale as we are stacked left hand side. We should still sell trips dubz miggy and targett if we can. Khusanov for me over tomori. Lots of quality rw out there not premiership players kuhn, bakayoko, zeghrova for better value. We should win few of the awards for December.
Agree with what you said but Tyler Dibbling is the one for me, I see Antony Gordon + Joelinton hybrid player there. And because he's English and young would suit Howe's coaching e.g. Livramento, Hall, Gordon.
@ dibling is okay but prices we would have to pay are crazy. I think we overpaid for hall and tino cause they came from premier league clubs this is what Mitchell meant it’s not fit for purpose. But don’t get me wrong I love hall and tino and we probably should have seen hall way earlier and in fleeting games we did see he was immense same with tino. Due to our limited income compared to cartel teams we have to go get the botman and Bruno that haven’t been discovered yet or get them early. If we are consistently buying premier league players it will take five years to be challenging for the top.
@@shauntaylor6040 tino and hall I think we did as for rest they where more proven so no. It’s my opinion but hall has proven himself and to lesser extent tino
Its a difficult one with barnes as if we continue in good form and get European football we'll benefit from quality cover for Gordon, But i doubt barnes is happy warming the bench
This PSR is seriously F****, when after spending a pittance in the summer and having to let Anderson and Minteh go, scandalous. Yet we are apparently near our PSR ceiling again, Barnes is a good player more importantly has that goal scoring knack. A striker to back up Isak
I hope we don't sell Barnes, I'm a big Barnes fan 👍he's too good to let go to another Premier League club. He's proved what a great finisher he is at Leicester and at Newcastle, if he goes to another Premier club we'll regret it as he'll score goals at any club.
How would selling Barnes help with PSR? What we get for him won't be pure profit as his price is amortised over the length of his contract so it's probably about the same as us selling Miggy for £8mil
I wouldn't sell Barnes. I'm really not sure why this keeps being said? He's quality he scores goals he's involved in goals and I think howe rates him. It's just hard to get him in the side right now. With a bit if luck we'll be in Europe next season and we'll need a squad
I don't think the money we get for Barnes would be very little once his transfer fee is set against his cost. Depends on how we bought him but without these figures I'm assuming very little PSR head room with this move.
We’re now talking about strengthening the team so that it can compete for a top 5 slot and play in Europe consistently and challenge for domestic trophies. I Personally think we need an elite right winger who can feed Isak even better than Murphy can.
Tomori is not even a regular for Milan anymore and he is getting to the point where he has no resale value at the end of his contract. I have seen rumours of Khusanov from Lens, Gerritt Kuhn from Celtic as a RW option and Kenneth Taylor from Ajax. We can get all three for less than Guehi. Spending money without consequence is over, Elanga will cost us 50m plus. Time to start finding the under the radar types.
don't rate Elanga, work rate terrible, doesn't track back, he doesn't start for Forest often more a super sub. Rather not sell Barnes but if we got a good offer.
The media are clutching at straws again with most of this. We were interested in certain players in the past so we must be still interested. I think we will strengthen but I would prefer to wait and see. Cannot see Elanga happening in this window unless we pay silly money. Tomorrow needs to move on but agree with you that we need to prioritise other positions.
I wouldn't sell Barnes unless he wants to leave. I'm not an Elanga fan. Haven't seen him much lately to be honest but I did see him while at Old Trafford. He didn't impress me. Barnes is a proven goal scorer. We need two quality players for each position.
Forest wanted 50m for elanga in summer so they arent going to sell in jan for less than that hes too expensive. The reports i read is barnes unlikely to leave in jan maybe in summer. If psr is an issue mbeumo is ofc the table as he will cost alot aswell. I say wait and see what club do hopefully they dont sit n wait until last day targets should of been identified and deals should be done quickly too so players can get upto speed
Big up Paul 👍 Bryan Mbeumo would be an Excellent signing at our club to give us more quality and pace Fikayo Tomori not for me sadly don't need another defender right now No way in a million planets Aleksander Isak will leave our club anytime soon absolute nonsense how these woke pundits keep going on about Arsenal needing to spend big to get Isak
In a world where there are constant complaints about media types harping on about Isak for Arsenal or Bruno for City etc. etc. Why would Forest, in 2nd place, sell Elanga now when they have a chance of a European place.
I just wonder if Barnes could be developed for the right wing? He'll never replace Gordon on the left so what has he got to lose? Definitely could be an upgrade on Murphy, well as he's doing at the moment.
I woukd swap Barnes for a good RW in a heartbeat. We have looked so much more comfortable without trying to shoehorn him in the team and I think the likes of Willock can provide cover on the left
I dont want another bloody defender this window. We are due 3 defenders back within 2 months aprox. I want a right winger and striker. Losing barnes would feel like a dumb step back. If gordan got injured we dont have a player to replace him. Id rather sell miggy, wilson, 2 keepers and target. For 1 winger. If trips goes too. Arguably all them would get use between 30-40mil hopefully. Id rather have barnes in our camp. We need some back up for murphy (who is having a stunning past 2 years i think)
Yes Elanga would be a good signing but I think forest will want big bucks Well to me need to get rid of Miggy Wilson target and any other out of the club that are no chance of first team football but hopefully we can get a RW and a striker if Eddie doesn’t think Osula is not quit ready to start a game for me
I don’t want Barnes to leave at all I think he can be a vital role in the latter part of the season
@@AllanM2e0 if he left who would cover him as we need back up in every position on the pitch don’t we

Exactly 💯
Because it’s a rolling 3 years we are paying PSR problems the club did years ago it’s not about now , that’s why Mitchell said it wasn’t fit for purpose and the club had massively been overspending with Amanda ect ,
@@LGlifeisgood So it takes 3 years to clear PSR?
@@Mister_Superflyyup
@Parkskigaming Seems incredibly harsh for sure.
Not sure in Elanga, not consistent enough for the very top level that we're aiming for, if we want to compete at the top we need levels above Elanga, i know that costs more, but if this really is the priority position we shouldn't be going just for average
why would Newcastle have PSR issues? has something happened that i don't know about
Because PSR is a rolling 3 years so we are paying the price from years ago because we over spent , the club new it and still spent because they wanted champions league and we couldn’t afford it so we are paying the price , it’s not about now ,
Smokescreen.
Massive step backwards if you sell Barnes, what a ridiculous idea.
Mbemo for me to👍
Would go for Semenyo/ Mbuemo instead of Elanga
I don't think we overpaid for Hall or Livramento, or Isak or Bruno or Botman or Gordon.
@@shauntaylor6040 tino and hall I think we did as for rest they where more proven so no. It’s my opinion but hall has proven himself and to lesser extent tino
We need players like Barnes,he has been a player whose goals have been priceless
Its a difficult one with barnes as if we continue in good form and get European football we'll benefit from quality cover for Gordon,
But i doubt barnes is happy warming the bench
This PSR is seriously F****, when after spending a pittance in the summer and having to let Anderson and Minteh go, scandalous. Yet we are apparently near our PSR ceiling again, Barnes is a good player more importantly has that goal scoring knack. A striker to back up Isak
merson been on the sherbit again
Yep,as usual ! 😂😂
This is year one of three for PSR, sovin theory we could over spend now and make it up later!
I give up we linked with every player!
We’re now talking about strengthening the team so that it can compete for a top 5 slot and play in Europe consistently and challenge for domestic trophies.
I Personally think we need an elite right winger who can feed Isak even better than Murphy can.
Elanga has 3 assists mate not 13😂
Tomori is not even a regular for Milan anymore and he is getting to the point where he has no resale value at the end of his contract.
Elanga isn’t leaving for less than £60m
don't rate Elanga, work rate terrible, doesn't track back, he doesn't start for Forest often more a super sub.
Semenyo/Cherki/Fofana/Mbuemo
I say forget about PSR, buy whatever targets we want, hold onto all of our pieces and make the Premier League 🔔 ends try to fight us in court.
I would not let Barnes go,he is our best finisher, soon as he is gone Gordon will get injured
That’s like buying some tuna paste to replace a tuna steak
Big up Paul 👍
Bryan Mbeumo would be an Excellent signing at our club to give us more quality and pace
Fikayo Tomori not for me sadly don't need another defender right now
No way in a million planets Aleksander Isak will leave our club anytime soon absolute nonsense how these woke pundits keep going on about Arsenal needing to spend big to get Isak
Elanga won't leave in January anyway they're doing well themselves. Newcastle are unlikely to do anything until the summer. I'd love Elanga here.
Murphy is better than elanga!
Mbuemo, raphina or marmoush would be an upgrade and not elanga imo
Elanga for me isn't a very big upgrade on Murphy so would not be too excited about that one if being honest
We need a right CB a GK a right sided attacking winger and striker but id guess at 2 from that list will be all we can realistically go for.
I prefer barnes than gordon
Not Elanga again not good enough end of.
Barnes has to stay full stop. He's too good to let go. I mean the goals he has scored for us were vital. Get rid of Miggy and Callum Wilson instead
The problem is who's going to buy them two
Zero chance of us selling our only fit striker
If tjis happens we sell barnes and buy elanga this club is finished, ffs make barnes a striker. elanga is nowhere near good enough...
