Try curing the nail on the top for 15 sec and then flip it over and smooth out the back ...then finish curing. This will keep the nail in place while you work.
I use the duel forms, I like them because you can get away with no filing on the top of the nail. It does take some practice but it is pretty easy to do. I can tell you the best tip I got was to warm the gel before use. You can sit the tubes in a bowl of hot water. This makes it softer and easier to smooth. You can always put more polygel on even after the cure so if you do get bubbles you can easily fill them. I hope I've helped
Thank you for the great tips Tara! I’m going to try to warm up the gel next time. My problem with the duel forms is that they slide too much on my nails and I have a hard time smoothing the back.
@@TeriWellsNails I have the same problem at times too, sorry I don't really have a tip for that but I can tell you it happens less as you get used to using it😊
use a regular paper acrylic sculpture form on the nails and u wont have to worry about anything squishing out from the underside. be sure to take it off after top cure then cure under side.

Your marbling looks great!! I have used dual forms and yes they are a pain. I couldn’t keep them from jacking up so I just put them aside. I’ve not tried any other way
@@TeriWellsNails yeah nail forms didn't work for me I didn't like the cuticle area 😭 but with nail sticker forms I was able to make my cuticle area look nice ☺️
Try getting nail clip tips from amazon! I don't know how to describe them but they're kinda like those clips people use to weigh balloons down LMAO but they're designed for nails and they're smaller and do not hurt when you clip them on your finger! Hopefully it'll help with your sliding problem when you turn your finger over to clean and you can keep them on when you put your fingers under the light!
Hi. Poly gel is a hard gel so it’s not soft once you cure in a UV/LED lamp. I have a video on how to prep your nails for dip powder, it’s the same steps for prepping for poly gel to make them last

sha bang thank for sharing! I have tried putting poly gel over just tips and I think that’s a better method for me but I do want to try using nail forms
I just got my poly gel kit and I get so annoyed with the forms bc the forms always slip and so I press them down a bit more and then the snap... it’s so annoying but it’s easier to do on yourself than acrylics 🙃
Yes Polygel is much easier! I’ve only tried acrylic once and I hated the smell so much I never tried again. People keep telling me about a chip they use for polygel to keep the dual form from sliding. I’m going to try that and hopefully it helps
Andrea Jennings Yes, I’ve gotten a lot of tips since posting this video. I tried dual forms with a different brand of polygel and I think I’m getting much better!
I’m new to polygel as well and when I get an air bubble I will add bling lol 🤫 no one ever knows 🤩. I’m gonna try your marble design today thanks!!
😂 Great Idea! I hope you like the design!

That’s a great suggestion! I’ll try that next time thank you!
I my polygel kit just came in, can’t wait to try this 🙌🏾
Yay! 🙌🏿 Let me know how it goes!
How did it go? Did you like the kit? Which colours?

Tara English yes I’ll keep practicing
I just got a similar kit - can’t wait to give it a try! Thank you for sharing your tips!
You’re welcome! I hope you like the kit
I use dual forms also they are so slippery I cure for 15 seconds and then clean up underneath the bottom it help. I love the marble design so pretty
NaturalBeautynStyle someone else told me this tip! I tried it and it works great. Thanks!

You did well can't wait to use mine this way right after the set I have on now comes off
Putting tips on first makes it so it doesn’t build up behind the nail -
That works for me
I agree, using tips first is so much easier
I do my polygel the same way you do...I have the same struggles and will have to practice more!
Yes, keep practicing! I’m going to try out a polygel clip from Amazon and see if that helps me when using dual forms .

Yes, they’re so frustrating! I probably won’t use them again. Applying the poly gel over nail tips is much easier for me
Beautiful kit!!😘😍 Lovely Mani!! TFS!
Thanks 😊
I tried it twice. I definitely wanna try this. I have a modelones kit as well.
Thank you Sierra, it’s a very simple design but still looks cute! Let me know if you try it!
Love it I’m going to try to do that
I ordered my kit today and uv lamp and I can’t wait till it gets here cause 🤪🤪
Yay! I hope you love the kit
@@TeriWellsNails omg I got the kit and I’m in love with it
So they sell these clear plastic clips that you clip down on the dual form ans your finger to hold in place they are AMAZING! Amazon sells them
A few people have told me about this in the comments! I need to purchase this! ❤️
🥵🥵 I love them 😍 ordering some now TFS 😘
Yay! Thank you!
My favorite way is nail sticker forms ☺️💓
Mariana Lopez I tried to use nail forms but I wasn’t successful. I need more practice with them
@@TeriWellsNails yeah nail forms didn't work for me I didn't like the cuticle area 😭 but with nail sticker forms I was able to make my cuticle area look nice ☺️
Mariana Lopez yes it’s hard to get the cuticle area with the dual forms, mine always slide around.
I got these clips to hold the dual forms in place and prevent slipping, they're clear little clips on amazon
Yes, I’ve heard about them but have never tried them.

I’ve seen these clips you are talking about! I didn’t know they were on Amazon. I’m definitely going to check it out! Thanks for the tip!! ❤️
How long does it last.. and were they soft at the tips ? What are the steps to keeping them on for a while?

I’ve tried using those before and I failed lol. I have better luck using nail tips
Dual forms over nail tips works best for me but I've also just placed the polygel over my nails without using the dual forms but still using tips

@@TeriWellsNails with tips and dual forms you don't have to worry about smoothing out the underside of the nail
Try using a tip on the nail like you would for acrylic nails.

Same issue with dual forms for me!
I love nail forms or nail tips. Both are much more stable for me. Mostly tips.
I use the Modelones dual forms. All the others are terrible imo. I’ve done it over tips but once I got those forms I never went back.

Hi let’s hug each other❤️❤️❤️
Hugs 🤗
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
if u use less alcohol it won’t slide at all! i’m pretty sure i’ve mestered poly gel using dual forms by this point lol
Thanks for the tip! I’m definitely still learning 😄
