Yes, according to tfs, Cell is only 6years old at this time. Though if you count gestation, he’s like 26 years old. Lol budokai 1 was so good, I love how well the animators captured the emotions. Modern db games have all the incredible art but none of THIS emoting.

Something about Cells return in this is unmatched. The dusty dark atmosphere. The reaction of Vegeta added to it when you know someone as unbreakable as him is just trembling they could all just feel his ki and Goku was now gone. They really captured the hopeless feeling and the ending is done amazing for how old this game is

The tone was so different than anything else, the music and everything is unique there and gives you a real sense of dread

I came back for the cutscenes and music, some of my best memories on the ps2 come from this game. I struggle on the special beam cannon mini game, I struggled against final form frieza and I DEFINITELY struggled against cell but it definitely felt earned when I eventually beat the game.
9:29-9:38 had to be the most epic. The way that dirt flew up was awesome
The only thing remembered in this saga was Cell's damage noises

I love Budokai 1 but the only problem with it is that they did not add the Buu saga. If they did, it would probably be the best DBZ fighting game to date.

I hate how they got rid of these amazing cut scenes along with the amazing soundtrack this game had after budokai 1.
You do know that they had to for legal reasons since the composer was caught plagarizing music, right?
The cinematography and character models of this game was so amazing for its time!!! In all-out honesty I can't think of any game that comes close to having this level of intensity. Budokai 2 and 3 just had the still models, and even then Budokai 3 mostly had just character artwork and word bubbles. While the Tenkaichi series really didn't care about the cinematography just that it matched the manga and or anime with absolutely no character emotions besides the voice acting. The cutscenes are also really jerky in their animations. Never got to play burst limit, but I remember some of the cutscenes and they were amazing as well! Kakarot may have had some awesome character models, and graphics along with some awesome cinematography but the cutscenes felt rushed to me. Same with the XenoVerse games. The cutscenes were too hasty to feel any enjoyment from. Budokai 1 and Burst Limit have the best cutscenes!!!

@@7771ham I'm sure the reason it doesn't extend to the buu saga is because this was going to be the first DBZ game coming to the US (I think) and it was also co-produced by funimation, whose dub was still only like half into the buu saga by the time of the game's release
