- Queen's Bath, Princeville, Kauai. For detailed information including safety tips visit the following website: www.hawaiigaga....
The video contrasts the Queen's Bath area during stormy and calmer seas (Mar 22 and Mar 26, 2010). Forecast surf heights were 4-6ft vs 12-15ft.
Satie fits this video so perfectly my mind can barely comprehend it. I wish I could give this 500 thumbs up
Great video. My wife and I were married on Kauai in 1994 (see my video slide show) but we didn't get to the Queens Bath until 1999. It wasn't placid like the first scenes in this video. Big waves like the second half. Nice!
We have a house out there like 5 minutes away. It's used to be very very dangerous to get there because you could fall off the small trail. People used to dive off the cliff into queen's bath. It was amazing. I love Kauai and want to go back.
Wow, I really wish I could wake up every morning and see this out of my window..... I live in Ohio and I just see cloudy skies and trees...... It really shows how beautiful a place like this is
I agree, me too..
i love ohio i used to live in oahu
my friend witnessed people swept out by a wave and the grandfather died rescuing family members. know your surf prediction , go only when flat to one foot. go only when the tide is low. go only may to september after checking out surf and tide. parking is VERY limited and wet trail is very slippery. that being said it is SO beautiful there and sacred. be respectful.
I'll never get to visit these beautiful places so I'll just watch ❤️
PinkMuaDoll NM I also feel the same.
Never say never, everything is possible
Hey....now don't think so negative, have a plan, save up and kick ass, see you out there😉😉😉
My wife and I thought the same thing. Wanted to go somewhere for our 20th but it didn't work out. Saved for five years for our 25th and just came back from Kauai and it was worth it!!
Yes you, who is reading this. You are light, joy and peace! You are not weak but strong, not helpless but all powerful, not limited but unlimited. Please don’t forget who you are? LOVE
Love your instrumentals to the wonderful waves of the North Shore X O California
Love this video could watch a million times over. excellent music..
looks like just a beautiful place.
Sunny Miranda lovely video
That's beautiful! This song is nice too.
I've been there. It's a hike to get there through a small rain forest; no charge. The only way you find out about it is from the locals. It's NOT a tourist attraction because it can be very dangerious. As you see from the video, you can't stay too long because once the tide starts to rise, you can get swept out to sea. I was bitten by tiny crab but no harm done. It really is that beautiful.
+Jule Brück - It was 10 years ago and someone else took lead. Ask the locals and they will direct you. Have fun.
When I went, I went swimming in the pool of water and there were so many crabs on the rocks it was a bit scary to find a way to get out! It was beautiful though, and you can enjoy the view of the tides and the turtles below from a nice perch on the rocks.
Me to
Christopher Waite of Kilauea....
As an EMS worker, the call to respond to Queen’s Bath occurs far too often. Extremity fractures, head injuries, life-long debilitating spinal injuries, heat exhaustion, heart attacks and death by drowning occur at an alarming rate. Extrications of injured people are extremely difficult and hazardous to rescue personnel.
Thank you for the warning, and for doing the risky, rescue work.
Wow that sounds crazy !
It sounds as if the tourist have no idea what in the world they're doing ?!
Maybe you could make a video explaining why all these things are happening and why it is a dangerous place ... no doubt due to some people just being reckless ... ?
I use to live in the apartments above this spot when I was 20--21 use to hike dow to this location all the time lived there from 1982---1983 , then moved to The Big Island and have lived here ever since. Got the hell away from southern Ca, moved here when I was 20- I go back for a visit every few years , and cannot wait to get back here after about 6 -days
Beautiful footage ... thanks for sharing.
its really beautiful and inviting....but I got scared when big waves came in....and then after fades the beauty I'm seeing in....but still I wanted to go there maybe someday.....
As with many beautiful places on Kauai, this area can be extremely dangerous.
I hiked down there and while I didn't get in, I didn't find the hike down to be too dangerous. Maybe if it was wet. But the views were worth the effort down.
The music and the beauty nis mesmerizing. 😍😍😍
Mother Nature creates the finest works of eARTh :D thanks for a lovely daydream, I wish to visit this sculpture/island one day!
I knew I had heard these two pieces before, but only now do I see the titles. You can find the recordings on Itunes.
I visited this spot and seen many sea turtles as well was a great trip. My mother lived in Princeville.
i went to Kauai and i really wanted to go to the queen's bath. but it happened to be winter time, and in the winter, queen's bath is really dangerous because of the waves. i was pretty sad. and no i want to go there even more!!
To many people have drown at queens bath as you can see in your video north shore water is unpredictable and extremely dangerous. I live on Kauai and have seen it myself in 2016 we lost one person a week for 9 weeks on the north shore.
I live wailua and now they have fencing and more warning signs dont go.....just like Opaeka falls but people think they invincible
donutdoode69 what and idiot. as somebody who nearly died there, the ocean isn’t a joke. it’ll kill before you even know what’s happening. only go if you know how to ride waves, and can stay calm under pressure.
Jackson Cude wow so what happened when you nearly drowned there?
Noel-The She-Male i didn’t understand how waves worked. I though all they did was push you away from wherever you were. I neglected to advise that waves pull you back too. I was pretty close to the edge after having jumped in, and a mediocre wave came crashing in. It wasn’t a big deal at first, all I did was hold my place, and when it stopped, I relaxed. Then the wave began to retreat and started to pull me before I knew what was happening. When I finally realized what was happening, I was at the edge and bracing my self against the rocks, so it wouldn’t pull me out to sea. I got banged up pretty bad, and thankfully I only walked away with a mild concussion. Rarely do people die in Queens bath, they drown when it sucks them out to sea. That day I learned I will never be stronger than the pacific ocean.
Jackson Cude so it’s the current that pulls you out to sea that kills... That current must take people down deep before they even know what’s happening? I swam at Waimea bay once when it was calm...there is a mean current at that beach pull you out.
Beautiful footage
March 2021 could be a great spot to check out. Love the Video.
We are in april 2021 now. Still corona.
Hard to believe a place like this is so dangerous but it is
I love Eric Satie ; very beautiful vid .
...such a beautiful place! I'll have to go there someday, with my wife.
Dennis Nakashima - Yes, don't forget your wife.
Just don't go in it it's quite dangerous, it's a sinkhole as you can see. But I agree it does look amazing
@@embracewithgrace8951 A few comments before this and the guy who works as a first responder was describing all the spinal cord injuries , head injuries ... and deaths that occur at that spot .
all the times I've been there and its never been this calm
One other thing, it is EXPENSIVE to live there. Most jobs, including schoolteaching, don't pay enough to live on. Most everything comes in by boat, or airplane. Local produce & diary is about it. Ecuador is it's own paradise, and it is very inexpensive. They use U.S. dollars, too.
Does Ecuador not have political strife? (Asking for a friend, lol!) Sounds neat though!
Love the Music Erik Satie. good job filmmakers. hell of a place
Event Trading n
that royal blue makes me crazyyyy....
Pacific is awesome
Kauai is in the Pacific.
I love watching this video. I've been watching this lot of time because there is very similar spot here in siargao. Named hagucan dive. But now I called it by my self as death pool siargao because of this video that i have seen to your youtube channel. I also uploaded it here to my channel. Thanks for this kind of video. 2 thumbs up!
It's so beautiful.
Lots of people have died here: This is my favrote youtube channel.
im soo happy to live near this place GO HAWAI'I
holy cow just one afternoon at this very spot in a big lounge chair and ice chest would justify the expense of a hawaii trip. music is also very familiar
So beautiful
So beautiful.
reminds me of our one called The Mermaid Pool at Matapouri, Northland, New Zealand
Time to start planning my July 2015 trip. Big Island, and either Kauai or Oahu. Hard choice. Just looking at some of the videos to see where I want to find locations for shooting. This is one that will be on my list if I go there.
if I was you I would skip Big Island and do Oahu and Kauai, the 2 most beautiful islands in my opinion.
I promise you this, avoid the big island and go straight to Maui then Kauai or vice-versa. The best and most beautiful sites to see are there. From Waiamea Canyon(Think Grand Canyon but all lush and green) to The Road to Hana. If I go back I will only visit those 2 islands.
xraeddie I think Maui is a bit over rated in a lot of ways. it's crowded with tourists and it can take a long time to get anywhere if you want to see different parts of the island. all the resorts on the upper and lower west coasts are a fake man made tropical paradise as they are built on otherwise dry and barren hillsides on the leeward side of the island. I did like the north shore as it was more naturally tropical (we stayed in Haiku) as well as Upcountry with it's temperate weather. I suppose it depends on which sort of vacation you are looking for.
the great thing about Big Island is the road and highway system there is modern and efficient and you hardly have to deal with any traffic hold ups. of course your distances getting to different areas are long and the scenery can be depressingly boring in some parts. We stayed on the Kohala Ranch property about 2000 ft above sea level with expansive 360 degree views so that was certainly memorable.
I would go back to any of the 4 main islands again and I even hope to add Lanai and Molokai at some point. Kauai is certainly my favourite and fits what most people envision a tropical island to be. we are going again the first 2 weeks of April... can't wait!
Super cool video!!
Swim in the queen's Bath at your peril.... Beautiful, but extremely unpredictable...
yesssahhhh
Very nicely done.
Waw, Amazing !
amazing video!
That must be a sacred place cuz the ti leaf is growing there.
We were there last week, but the bath was full of murky water from all the rain runoff. :(
Sheer pleasure to watch!!!
it looks so pretty omgosh!
Where's The Kings Bath?
KingofTownz - you're probably referring to the "death toll" sign a concerned citizen posted at the bottom of the path. The count on the sign is fictitious. But people have been swept off the rocks and died. That why It's important to visit the safety page listed above and on the video.
Beginning at 0:26 beautiful little place..
looks dreamy
Stunning
Beautiful
It's so beautiful I love the water I'm Ganna go swimming there
If you do, be careful. It is very dangerous.
@drlee1975 me too! we went in 1998, one of the best places outside the bedroom on our honeymoon.
I wanted to see them too, they were there, but from the beach they didn't seem that high... Comparing with surfers riding them you can imagine it... North oahu: waimea bay, sunset beach are famous spots to watch...
couldnt they place anchored "Bell Bouey's" outside the pool to warn people when the Tide shift enters? I hear that the pool, though very beautiful, can be quite dangerous when those tides enter.
that would completely ruin the natural beauty of the place! you simply have to observe what is going on around you. the only part that is dangerous is the one pool that is always open to the surf.
Ahhh. Or...being an Artist you could make realistic seals that head bob in the water. Therefore keeping a safe but aesthetically pleasing environment.
Fiddlekrazy Steve We can do a lot in this world to try & prevent things but stupid will always find a way.
infamousdx damn straight, you can't help stupid.
Dig!
One of my favorite place in Hawaii. I purchased a Hero3 black edition (HumbleOutdoors w/free 32GB SD) and plan to take diving videos in the pool.
BEAUTIFUL. Where's it at?!
This is located on the North Shore of Kauai.
Drooled on keyboard.. cost of new keyboard will make this excursion even harder doh
i was going to go to queen's bath when i was there 1 year ago but the tide was toooooooooooooo high.
How do you get to queens bath?
I’m a native. One of our favorite group outings is to urinate in the the bath when the ocean supply is cut off by the tide. Tourists, enjoy!
And yet, another visitor has died from not paying attention to "HIGH Surf Advisories" and walked out onto the rocks of Queen's bath and was swept into the ocean by large waves as his wife and friends watched. Kauai Ocean Safety along with the US Coastguard searched for three days off the north shores of Kauai and found no traces of the unfortunate victim.
a lot of people die due to stupidity don't worry it helps reduce global population...
Nice edit at 0:56 for the dive.
Could this be an optional place with swim wear and none swim wear is that aloud?
GORGEOUS.
Gorgeous
Wonderful
why cant I watch any of the youTube screen. all I get is a solid green screen. I get the audio portion but not the video.
Sounds like a problem on UA-cams side.
You look like Santa Claus lmao
Hugh Mungus maybe he's seeing elves..
Peter Michaelis grandad its not your age to be watching youtube. Go to church, pray, take your blood pressure tablets and knock out
Paradise..
Is this on Kauai?
Esta muy bonito el vídeo de el mar
Amazing
Hawaiian instrumental (music) would have made this video more pleasing. There are many beautitful instrumentals....Ozzy Kotani, Keola Beamer. I visited this place three years ago. One of the best places to go when in Kauai.
I think it is safe when the tide is low?? Anyone?
I wanna go there someday :(
Did you go? 😇
Tyler Saints and you will! ☺️
Dont ... its too dangerous
I take it this is a place that is nice to visit under the right conditions? It looks so lovely, but lovely and dangerous can and do co-exist I guess.
What time of day was it when people we’re swimming?
Time of day is irrelevant as opposed to time of year. If it's not summer don't expect to get in the water.
I have been there when calm and my son swam there another time when calm. But then another October 2 women were swept off the lava and drowned
Very relaxing. I could do that if the waves were not huge, like in this video.
WHO are the 58 so called 'no like' turds here?! Always has to be TROLLS who don't like anything beautiful and are angry at the world.
This video is absolutely breathtaking and I appreciate those who brought it to us.
63 now... they are no fun.... lol
Linda Albu I agree
Linda Albu it is breath taking..
It's up to 83 now.. I guess some people can't appreciated nature in it's natural setting.. :)
so pretty
whats the Hawaiian name for queens bath? is it puuloa?
i want the name of this song please !!!
Alin Cristian - It's Eric Satie, Gnossienne No. 1 and Gymnopedie No. 1. Beautiful, eh? And the scenery also.
Does anyone know who arranged the orchestrated versions of these songs?
the link to the music is included in the description.
It's beautiful music especially the first one..

+Fattorso ! Please see my comment above...LyonStill
I’m so happy my parents live here
The video contrasts the Queen's Bath area during stormy and calmer seas (Mar 22 and Mar 26 2010). Forecast surf heights 4-6ft vs 12-15ft.
Just watch the beautiful videos. Don't hike down there. Injuries and deaths are ongoing. It can change from calm to deadly in an instant. Don't be the next victim.
There are good days and bad days when that tide rises unless you are familiar leave
Make no mistake...this is an extremely dangerous place to enter the ocean...at ANY time of year, but especially this time of year! This is NOT a safe tourist spot....at ALL! And the more this spot is glorified on utube video, the more the danger is amplified! There are many more beautiful (and safe) spots on the island visitors can enjoy! If utube is held responsible for peoples injuries, you will see how quickly these videos will be pulled!
You Great Good... !!! I wish you every day of your development. Best Relaxing +thumb up3!
what is this song?
link to the music is in the description.
W O W ! ! ! Awesome!
very very nice
Heaven ?
