This video brought terrible clarity and fresh anguish a year ago... from age four to ten, I lived in a basement. I mean, literally a basement. With a bipolar mother from whom there was no escape. I remember when, and how, my 'hopefulness burst.' The song is haunting because for some, it is literally true. Human evil is real and it stalks abroad in the land. For those of us who need it, and are strong enough to confront it, this song is also an agent of change. Thank you, Amanda & Edward, for putting it out there. And to all the elephants in the room I say: get professional help. It really works.
That actually made me cry... Amanda PLEASE COME TO NEWFOUNDLAND! I would love to actually see you in person, I've been such a fan for years. You've really helped me, you have no idea...
Holy sweet mother of F!!!! This is truly a hypnotic work of art, I can't even begin to formulate words for how profound, eerie, brilliant this is. I had fallen in love with Edward's voice/music in 1989. I became deeply intrigued by you Amanda when "Girl Anachronism" came out. Both you and Edward are unlike any other musicians, you both cannot be compared to anyone else because you're a trillion percent original. I love that Edward is your hero and love even MORE that the both of you made this MASTERPIECE ♥ This video chilled me to the bone. I was covered in goosebumps from head to toe. I love what was done with all the fabric, wood, the movement of the performers. There's nothing like this. You and Edward have created something so phenomenal, so mind blowing that I honestly don't think I can full absorb the brilliance of this in it's entirety in one sitting. I so wish you were doing a Canadian date ♥
Check out a) the legendary pink dots and b) virgil pink [does his own videos for their songs and others]. Singer from LPD is one of Amanda's heroes, this song here is them together. Anyway, may you find and and focus upon art that is so needed.
I know we bring our own stories to life in the gaps left in excellent art. Amanda and Edward, thank you for the space to grieve/celebrate those we have lost and to let the deep yearning and longing have its way with me. Time is strangely fluid and yet utterly implacable and our life is in the hands of every tick....tick....tick.
holy fuck im speechless this was... I CANT EVEN DESCRIBE IT when the furniture fell apart i held my breath for a while thinking "I CANT BELIEVE THEY'RE DOING-OH MY GOD" incredible
6 years Ive been trauma bonded to an abusive relationship. My friend sent me this video 4 years ago 💔😪 2 children later and C Ptsd I get it...Run.....I miss you A.B 🤍
This, both in music and video is a masterpiece. There is no need to explain the reason. It is either made for you or not. I am happy for Amanda and Edward. This work ( I can spin a rainbow) was longer in the making than most people seem to think. I am so glad to hear the result of a friendship. Sing While You may.
A series of massive collages synced with great precision to specific music. In its most wonderful sense, this is Art For Art's Sake, an ethos I'm pro-.
my automatic need to find meaning is running me in circles. This was mesmerising to hear yesterday; even more haunting to watch. Amazing job to all involved x
stunning. inspiring. its a song I feel will be exactly what someone needs while either peacefully drifting off or something to cry themselves to sleep with.
AWESOME.....wonderful to hear something well away..from the regular boy meets girl story line..where everything is so sugary and samey. GOOD JOB everyone involved.
I have to say, yesterday I didn`t like the music. But the more I listen to it the more I kinda love it. It`s different. And the video is amazing, needless to say.
I can't tell you how much I look forward to seeing you in Leipzig next month. Out of luck and resources, I waited for an opportunity to see you live for TEN years. The timing, now, seems perfect, thoigh. I look forward to you playing this haunting, beautiful new piece of art at the end of a crazy inhale year.
Wow! Nice work Amanda! Such a cool video! 💖 Must've been fun to make. I love how spooky and weird it is. Leaving the viewer (or at least me) with some strange gloomy and ominous feeling. Great art! Love it! 😄👏
F*ck me, that's the best piece of art I've seen in years. Music: Haunting and Gorgeous (Love AFP), and the video! Australians! Wow. Makes me proud to be a creative Aussie. Well done.
Probably. There is certainly an evolution in her storytelling though. Of course, time and love and becoming a mother have all played a big part in this emotional enrichment. I was merely pointing out the development in her storytelling abilities and tipping my hat to her blooming creative side. I didn't mean to imply Neil was the cause. Simply a tribute to their camaraderie and kismet relationship.
Don't discount the fact that she made this album with her songwriting hero, Edward KaSpel. His narrative style is quite unique. He's got a VERY deep discography, but begin with the music of The Legendary Pink Dots before you travel into his solo work, or his other projects, The Tear Garden, Mimir, etc.
can't believe I paid for this crap. Love you Amanda, but this is terrible, self indulgently experimental, and the lyrics are pretentious as all hell. Seriously missed the mark in my opinion.

Dear God - I'm so glad I've watched it on full screen as advised. Absolutely enchanting, deeply unsettling and strangely beautiful. I love it!
Wow this gave me goosebumps. Bravo
Holy hell is this beautiful. The level of dedication and the sheer artistic genius of it - I'm totally blown away.
Hauntingly beautiful song. Mesmerising detail in the animation.
That actually made me cry... Amanda PLEASE COME TO NEWFOUNDLAND! I would love to actually see you in person, I've been such a fan for years. You've really helped me, you have no idea...
I know how big of a deal it was for Amanda to record with Edward. This is massive and SO well done. I've lived these lyrics.
Simply...SUBLIME!
This is beyond lovely. Beautiful story, and incredibly executed.
I'm Amazed by your work , i was glued to the screen and couldn't stop watching , bravo!

It would seem that being married to Mr. Gaiman makes you quite the story teller. Wonderful job!!!
Isn't it more likely that her being a good story teller is one of the elements of a mutual attraction?
Probably. There is certainly an evolution in her storytelling though. Of course, time and love and becoming a mother have all played a big part in this emotional enrichment.
